I'm confused - that reads like your sister married one of your three brothers... I thought that was only okay if you were European royalty or Appalachian hillbilly.

Pete, we've got snow forecast up here for next weekend ! I might have to mothball my 911.

I assume that you go out one of those dormer windows and then walk up to the chimney?

Perhaps you could ring the perimeter of your house with trampolines so if you fall off, you'd have fun.

Impressive. It's always easier when you fall up.

Hate hate hate heights. I will work off of ladders, boom lifts, and on roofs, but a step pitched roof is by far my least favorite. I helped my father in law build their house, between 12' ceilings x2 floors and a walk out basement it's an easy 40 ft high on the back. Making it worse, he had the bright idea to strap a plank to his boom lift basket so we didn't have to move as often. So I walked the plank hanging siding 40' up for a solid week of hell. Thank God I wised up and went back to college.

Me too. It's strange, I had less fear of my first sky diving jump and was totally ok soloing a light plane but being on a scaffold working on my 20 foot vaulted ceiling terrified me. I was dizzy and disoriented the whole time I was up there, even though I knew I was totally safe.

Nope......I lay a long latter on the back side (flat against the roof) and walk up it.

My (50 year old) nephew is finally out of the hospital and home recuperating from falling off of the roof of a single story house with a fairly gentle pitch a couple of weeks ago. He's been doing handyman and roofing work in his small town for years. Both feet went out from under him, then he slid off and landed on his feet, crushing both ankles. Guess he forgot to monkey roll. He'll be in a wheelchair for months.

Have any of you considered the addition of the pulley brush system to clean? I'm dropping a liner in for our secondary boiler (coal/wood) and I'm thinking this would be a smart way to keep it clean.

I won't go out on my roof. It looks like the OP's. Tried once. As I get older, I'm developing a fear of heights when before I had none. Or maybe I'd just rather write a check. It's not a big check, and if it were written to my local hospital, it would be 100X larger.
