Bob Marley "Waiting in Vain"....whenever I hear the guitar after the lyrics "winter is here and I'm still waiting there", I can't help but smile and a peace washes ove me.

I just attended a performance of the 9th a few weeks ago with 150 in the choir. Stunning to say the least.

I have alot of comfort music but just one song is tough to select. (thinking)...yeah I can't pick one. But I will often turn to an aria preferably a mezzo soprano.

Ray Charles and Willie "Seven Spanish Angels" also an honorable mention to a father/ daughter duet on you tube of "Are you mine" that I like. The happiness of these two (father/ daughter) is very pleasing. It's listed as Caroline Parke. It is twang at it's best. Yippee

Just one song? I've got lots of comfort music. I guess if I had to pick just one, the first thing that comes to mind might be Hotel California, but that's a lot like trying to pick my favorite food or even favorite comfort food. There are lots in various genres.

There's a whole lot of songs that bring back memories. I think Johnny Cash's cover of "Sunday Morning Comin' Down" is up there along with ABB's "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed".

Don't really have one, but "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys is right up there.
Gordon Lightfoot's, "All I'm After " ("Susan's Floor" was written by Shel Silverstien) and Joan Baez singing "Jesse" will always do it for me.

Best

When I think of a "comfort song" I think of one that will always relax and soothe me rather than just make me happy. Here's a couple that do it for me (a few are already posted).

Seven Spanish Angels (Willie Nelson/Ray Charles)
Country Roads (John Denver)
Sunday Morning...(the man in black)
Free Fallin' (Tom Petty)
Amazing Grace (various performers including Elvis)
Jesus Take the Wheel (Carrie Underwood)
Photograph (Kid Rock and Sheryl Crowe)
