Nice, I could see myself using that for a parts run or to the hardware store.

A good friend of mine, who owns an old Chevy/GMC truck website, owns a dump truck version of that.

If you suffer from Kidney Stones or another ailment that can be fixed by constant jarring, I recommend the truck highly....all at a top speed of 50 MPH.

Fun to look at.

First buy a gas station. Then become your own best customer.

Just like an Unimog - not fit for long distance travel. Also, too big to get into places.

I went to a MC safety class and one of the instructors had exactly this truck. It was a beast. Smoked like crazy (diesel) and needed creative shifting through all the very closely spaced gears when taking off.

I would definitely not build an RV / exploration rig on its base. Better trucks for that ...

I would love to have one of those, or a Zil, Ural, Kraz, Tatra, M939, M35, or an M934 if you want to do an RV.

Holy smokes, I remembered getting a boner when those were just 50k a few years ago for a completely restored one. Now they are 200k

Why the hell is anything old and working cost so much money now. Are people tired of throw away products?

If you are so inclined, you can pick up a 5-ton "as-is" via DRMO auction for $2-$4k typically. Of course, that is just the starting point.

The 5 ton is pretty big for the street but the 2.5 is just big and obnoxious. I keep looking at deuces, really only because they are cool and my dad spent a bunch of time driving one.
