Put a deposit down on a 2013 Mazda NC PRHT...

At the Mazda dealership yesterday. Into the third month of looking. Started off looking at a 2006 NC and ended up buying a 2013. This one has only 10k miles. Had a PPI done yesterday. A couple of small items to be fixed under warranty which runs out in May. Take delivery this afternoon. Snow tires on order. Life is good! Oh yes. I know the procedure. Pics to follow.
Cheers, Guy

In Mazda talk the NC model of Miata runs from 2006 to 2015. The ND started in the 2016 model year. PRHT stands for power retractable hardtop.

What a great car.

I wasn't sure of the abbreviations either - I had to look it up:

What is not to like? Congrats.

Sounds like a baby's babble.

One thing I have to admire about the long line of Miata's is the weight and size has pretty much remained the same. Look at what Datsun did to the 240Z. It grew huge and turned into the 928 like highway cruiser.

Of course the 911 has grown a LOT as well. The new 991 is a giant next to my car.

Sat in the 2016 Miata ND yesterday. It is smaller and lighter than the NC. It is supposed to go from 0-60 in 6 seconds making it faster than the NC and doing it with less horsepower. Pretty amazing.

cool car, good luck

I keep reading about the new one and really like it on paper. I like the idea of one but up until ~2000 they are just too tight inside for me everyday, if I fit in one I think I'd buy it.

Er.....yeah.....I'm not up on the latest jargon. There was a major upheaval when I used the term "cam drive" rather than "timing belt" on a Miata forum.

Good to have a hard top anyway.. Mine is the old style" bolt it on". Wouldn't be without it in the PNW.

Very cool car!
When I retire in a few years and if I can swing getting a fun car a ND will be on the short list.

Let us know what you think. Good looking little car and I like the idea of a folding hardtop.

Nice car.
The thread title ( "Put a deposit down on a 2013 Mazda" ) reminds me of a joke my dad said circulated during WW II, when you had to be someone very special to buy a new car.

"What's the difference between a soldier and a pigeon?"
"A pigeon can make a deposit on a new car."
Badum, bump...

Congrats! My dad has a newer NC soft top with a manual transmission and the sport package, it's a really great car. If he ever gets tired of it I might snatch it up.

If this is turning into a Miata forum, I want some hairstyling tips.

The 240Z grew huge? My 350Z looks absolutely tiny sitting in the garage next to my wife's Mustang...I haven't seen an old/new Z car side by side, but I'd say the new ones are actually shorter than the old ones (possibly heavier, though).

I had an '06 NC ragtop for 7 years. It was a great, fun car that never gave me a moment of trouble. Swapping out the springs/shocks/sways for a FM Stage 2 kit absolutely transformed the handling.
