Looks like I'm going to have the AH pulled out and I'll need to strip out the millboard and repair the framing and remove the concrete. Put in a plywood floor with a pan. Then reinstall the AH but make sure it is level and drains properly.

been grilling in my house with my Jennair indoor range. Grill is nice, but the downdraft hood sucks...big time.

So...I ran some black pipe and installed my new grill right outside my kitchen on the deck, overlooking the creek. went with an MHP....totally awesome. old school, simple quality. I've owned Webers, and I do like them...but I love the simplicity of this new grill. Lot of cool attachments are available. All made in the USA, and each part is replaceable.

that's why I went with that brand. MHP invented the outdoor gas grill....thought it would fit a bit better with the motif!

I did get some electrical wiring done.



It was nice that the plumber left me a big conduit.

Picked up two different exterior lights to see which I like better. One is in stock and one is back ordered. My supplier is giving me the back ordered lights for free so I'll probably like them better!

Also met with my hardwood flooring guy. Floor is out of level in a couple of places and we need to float it out. I hope that happens early next week so we can lay hardwoods, then carpet.

Couple of screen handles and a closer(nailed the adjustment perfectly, yes)
Made a nice discovery while lubing them. Cleans the chalky residue and funk and brought back the color with a soft feel.

Installed a few outlets and other small things.

Instructions: Kill power. Remove old outlets. A few were just flopping around in the box because someone never bothered to get longer screws and secure it. Clean off over-spray paint from wires. Old outlets were friction back-stabbed but new ones will have a 270-300deg connection and tight attachment. Find myself holding an empty end of a copper ground wire. Repair that and double check them all. Another ground is not even hooked up. Install new GFIs. Sweating like crazy. A finger gets hot. Oops the breaker is on. Mom decides she is going to move my ugly tools around and bring all the dishes back in the kitchen while we have a discussion about life and my bad eating habits. Ok top wires go back to top, and bottom go to bottom. Massage wires back into the box carefully. Slow 'er down.

The outlet pops.
But the tester briefly flashes correct installation.
Hmm, must be a bad outlet from the store. Reinstall with a different one.
That outlet pops also.

I finally decide to read the damn instructions.
Then I learn the difference between line and load sides of a GFI.
Remove two wires from the outlet and see which has power when breaker is on. That is the upstream line side.
It goes to the bottom of the outlet.
Just like the damn picture says.

Re-staining deck furniture. Took photos and tried to match up colors from a camera. The proper stain would have been Minwax 'gunstock', but at the last second I switched to 'red chestnut' because I was afraid the final result would be too orange. Still kicking myself. I needed an extra day of sanding but had no time and just wanted to get done.

Ill save you the pics, but I had to undermine the slab/footer and fix the poopie pipe . I've noticed some leakage over the years, but this winter, it let loose . Lots of disgusting sludge laying on the floor in our little sunken pump room under the house . I found clay pipe electrical taped to plastic pipe, that was electrical taped to iron pipe . What fun!!
I had to lay in raw sewage and shove my head up under the slab to get it all back together. It was of course right at a Y junction . I have been digging at this for the last two weekends. I was really happy to finally find the pipe and then find the leak . Glad this one is almost over
Home ownership is great fun !
Now , I get to jack the slab back up. This was repaired before, they never filled it back in, and the slab settled a few inches.
Oh, and our 275 gallon oil tank was in the way, so I had to pump it empty and move it , Of course, one of the legs snapped off. It is old and rusty any how. So now , I have to try to get a 28" 275 gallon tank out through a 30" opening , and up a flight of stairs, yaaaaaay!

Climbed the top step of a 10' ladder while wife held the base still and I clutched the trunk. Cut some dead branches that were laying on our roof and spoiling our view. Could have been ugly in many different ways.

I have used PC-7 epoxy many times for small table top fountains. Very similar smell/workability to JB Weld.

They also make PC-11 Marine epoxy for submerged applications.

Purchase at your local hardware. (ACE in my case)😉
