Anyone bought a gun on Gunbrokers.com?. Any tips, cautions, etc?

I've purchased several from them...I want to sell a few there as well.
I don't know, it seemed not unlike eBay to me.
The five that I bought were all in excellent condition, as per what was stated by the seller.
That's all I can think of to say about it all.

Several.

Line up your transfer dealer first and confirm their charges. Remember the 15 minute rule. Remember on pricing that you need to add your FFL fees and shipping.

For new stuff just ask what your FFL can get them for or if they mind transferring from buds

Maybe I am the exception to the rule?
I have tried Gunbroker twice, and gotten burned twice.

First time was for rifle furniture from Numrich. Ad stated, "Excellent condition". I received a box of parts for some other firearm / some other customer. I let them know. They said, "just throw them away and we will fix it". Next box I received was furniture for the rifle, but it was nowhere near excellent condition. Te parts looked like they had been buried in a peat bog for 50 years, rinsed off and sent to me. All hardware was rusty beyond restoration. It was purchased cheap enough that I did not send it back - I just threw the box of junk in the warehouse and will let some other fool have it for secret santa or something.

Second time was for an A1 upper receiver. Again, advertised as "excellent" and "no damage - just normal wear". Received the item and found that it had been broken, from the ejection port all the way down the mag well. Somebody tried to weld it and re-black it. But it had cracked again. I had to fight this one due to cost. Gunbroker said they would not get involved in the transaction!! I ended up filing with the postmaster, and the SC Dept of Consumer Affairs, and about 4 months later I received a refund from the seller.

My experience taught me that Gunbroker is where dishonest sellers go so that they don't have to look you in the eyes while they **** you.

I have sold several rifles and pistols and also bought several rifles through GunBroker. I ALWAYS make sure I talk to the seller or someone at their shop to get details and such. I also ask for several additional pictures to make sure what I am buying is what they say they are selling. I never buy an item that uses "canned" or a standard picture from a catalog. I always talk with the necessary FFL holders to make sure the transaction will be legal at both ends. I never take personal checks or credit cards but only USPS money orders or a bank draft and always have the buyer pay their FFL fees and if necessary I pay mine.

So far I have never had an issue with either a buyer (6 times) or a seller (4 times) and the necessary transactions.

I have tried a few times but always found a better deal elsewhere.

It all depends on what you are trying to find. Gunbroker seems more realistic than GunsAmerica.

Other than a BHP, which I haven't bought yet, I have found better deals at shops. All my purchases have been new stuff though. My 1911 was $125 less than anything on GB for the few months I was watching.

Twice, but both for new stuff that wasn't available locally and both were from reputable gun shops with long seller history. Low risk, no big deal. The only gotcha is to watch out for the credit card fee, I didn't catch that on my first buy.
