Blender - need a new one

My old one bit the dust after 15 years.

I use it every day so I don't mind paying a little more for quality.

Looks Vitamix VS Blendtec is the typical choice.

What do you guys have?

I have an old school Vitamix. To be honest, it's probably more blender than most people will need.

For a 2 to 3 serving smoothie type mix, the Nutribullet works fantastic.

It is not a full size blender but we do find ourselves using it almost daily.

neighbor has a vitamix.

I got the ninja.

ninja does the job.

if you enjoy the feel of quality and are willing to pay for it the vitamix is one of those things where quality is so apparent it shames products around it.

My sister has a Vitamix and uses it all the time. We have an upper end Ninja and it works great for us but my sister would probably wear it out.

We have a Breville 800XL. It is a 1000 Watt Blender with a cast iron internal base. We had some trouble with smaller blenders burning out (and up!) and I wanted something heavy duty. It has provided YEARS of great service.

Problem: It is only two speed and when putting it on the high speed you better be holding the top down tightly. If the mixture is hot, then you better hold it down with a towel!

We don't use a blender much but if we every get another one (currently have a name brand blender that spends most of it's time in the cupboard) it will be a Vitamix.

Variable speed VitaMix.

In addition to being an excellent blender, it can actually make ice cream and/or piping hot soup, despite it's lack of a heating or cooling element. Quite versatile...
