I recommend you give ME this Jag. I will give the kid my old moped. As a grown adult, I will maintain the car responsibly.

Additional reasons why I (and not the kid) should get the Jag.
1. I will maintain the car with fully synthetic everything.
2. I can afford upkeep- such as new tires.
3. I can afford proper insurance. He cannot
4. I can afford the local taxes on it. The taxes from this car alone will float our local
rural high school for an entire year. Give this to the kid, and he will wrap it around a tree. Give it to me, and an ENTIRE class of children will go to college and be successful. At least one of those kids will either find a cure for cancer or become president.
5. I have a garage.

In addition, I will even fly to your house to pick it up and take you all out for a first class dinner.

Sincerely,
Ron

For some reason the rear tires never last as long as the front ones.

You've passed.

UPDATE:

Having received a negative response from Ms. Gogar, our young friend gave up on the "borrow the neighbors car" genius idea.

During this time, his parents lovingly bought a 2016 Subaru XV Crosstrek for kid's twin sister.

(We are assuming she is the "good twin" and got mom and dad to throw down for a car because..... Maybe she has better grades or she's more responsible or ...... No bad ideas or .... Dad can't say no to his little girl..... Etc.)

Anyway, just a guess.

What IS known is that "kid" either has whined enough to warrant a "sharing" of the new suby, or he "borrowed" sister's car yesterday without her knowledge.

Here are his DAY 1 results. Enjoy!!

That is funny.

So, when does he get the keys to the Jag?

Yes, when? He has got his first accident out of the way and probably learned some valuable car handling insight, so should be just fine behind the wheel of your expensive machinery!

I have my assumptions but do you know if he backed into something or was he hit by something?

I would have let him use the Z50 for $0.55 per mile and $25 per day plus oil changes.

30,000 I kinda understand. 300,000 I totally understand. 3000??? WTF??
I think he's joking.

The slick modern cat runs long distances without need for a continual string of back up cars as it sits in the cat hospital.

The most difficult part of letting some one drive it, is the aluminum shell is not an easy repair, unlike the 944 that can be fixed with a hammer and tools for point of contact.

The whole issue of entitlement from them even asking is the issue for me. Tell them to PUNT!

The slick modern cat is going for a 800-mile fun trip this weekend, so everyone will find out! 800 miles is a real relationship barometer. I might not make it.

The "3K" service is basically just an oil change and a run through the scanner. I don't even know if she's ever had it in since new.
In addition, the Pana exploded last week so we are paying a little more attention to "service reminders." (although the Pana grenade was not "user error.")

Yep. FWIW, I don't think the parents know he asked.

Packing tape, really? He couldn't even do a proper "whiskey tango" repair and use black duct tape? Kids these days...

And of course, clipping the bumper back on would just be too much.
