Is car insurance crazy in CO? I lived in NJ when I got my DL, so insurance was a big consideration. My first car was a 1970 BMW 2002 that cost $800 and then about $800 to make right. Insurance was way more than the car was worth. WTF buys their teenager a new car unless they hate money and have a few money trees in the backyard?

I asked my neighbor if I could borrow his car to go to prom.

He said yes. I didn't realize a '53 Rolls had a manual transmission. But I learned to drive a stick that night.

Many years later, I returned to my home town driving a 73 911. Went to my old neighbor's house - he was still there. Asked him if he'd like to take my car for a drive. He wanted to and I winced as he graunched the gears a few times. But since I'd done that to his Rolls, it only seemed fair.
