Sorry, I really hate to keep at this but seriously. Read his post for yourself. Others DID NOT drive the price up, Henry says IN HIS OWN WORDS "after reading the replies here I realized the car was underpriced". I put it in bold for you yet you continue to defend the indefensible. The only possible explanation is that by others you actually mean the people on this forum, but you're making it sound like others came by and actually placed bids on the car. If you indeed mean the people on this forum than by default you are proving my point. Also, if you read his post its interesting that the man of his word said he told the guy "when he showed up" Why didn't he even give him a courtesy call alerting him of the new price? Again it was a douche move...Sorry.

Well then don't. The OP did not advertise the car at a low price with the intention of raising it when a buyer came around. There was no intent to deceive any of the prospective buyers. He did the right thing.

Actually, my first contribution to the thread predates your first comment. Silly boy.

You're forgetting that the first prospect who stopped by to see the car wanted to pay over selling price to close the deal and he didn't sell it. An important detail you've missed. Sorry, only an effing fool would undercut himself and sell his car knowing it was under priced by thousands. Douche move or not - was the right thing to do. He could've sold it to the first guy who had cash in hand but he didn't.

And to be clear, I'm not defending the OP. I am defending as reasonable, his actions to correct a mistake he made. Prospects are prospects - he wasn't duty bound to sell to anyone even if they flew in from Alaska. Call him a douche or a-hole, so what? His property, he sells to who he sees fit, when he wants.

Again, his only promise was to NOT sell the car before 7;30 had a chance to look and make an offer.

Obviously 7:30 found $32k to be acceptable.

Pretty much yeah.

Obviously, some have much different standards for what is appropriate and honorable than you and I...and will defend them as such...ad infinitum et ultra. Arguing the details will never lead them to believe their standards are inappropriate as they have documented in this thread that they live their lives by said standards and do similar transactions routinely. To admit/agree that your standards are superior...or even reasonable would be to admit that theirs simply are not. For you to abandon yours is just as unlikely. Regardless of right or wrong...pigs will fly before there is any agreement from either party. Might as well move on.

Based off of your despicable, manipulative, and word twisting behavior on this thread, you'd be the first one, IMO, to screw over someone in a deal. Guaranteed. And then you'd lie and slither like a snake. We all witnessed it right here.

That's like the most strawman I've ever seen in one post.

Usually a strawman is built upon several sentences / paragraphs.

You appear to have reached the pinnacle of strawmanship with that post, you've got one in pretty much every sentence.

Impressive, ****ed up but impressive.

So are you saying that your standard is superior because you are always truthful?

I don't know.

Was at a friends surprise birthday party, had some wine.

Also have a rib out and have been chewing Nocor like it's going out of style.

Made it all kind of hard to follow.

Hence why I asked.

Clearly, I did not...but, I suspect that most folks believe their moral standards are superior. As you see from this thread, some will repeatedly engage in childish name-calling...and even lie about others to defend their standards...or lack thereof. So, I think there is ample evidence.

I suspect they will return soon to continue their diatribe.

Hope you enjoyed your party.

Expensive night.

At least they had the restaurant put out a half dozen thin sparsely appointed artisan pizzas for all 20 of us to share.

The company was fine so it's all good, sorta.

No kidding...but I am a cheap date. By the time I completed my 3 1/2 hour commute home last night...all I could do was go to bed after a few slices of leftover pizza from the fridge). I started at 4am yesterday and didn't get to bed til 3am today. I just took my suit off and fell asleep on the floor in my underwear.

No, your spouting that you have higher moral standards than those with opposing views, though your behavior tells a totally contrary story. IMO, should you in fact erroneously undersell your vehicle to a buyer who "took" you for a steal of a buy, I don't believe that your "honor" would allow you to accept it. I believe you would in fact apply heavy resources to correct the fiscal injustice: civil lawsuits, lawyers, whatever it took to get your funds back and show that buyer his evil, unscrupulous ways, and to satisfy your self importance. And all of this for a menial amount, too, though you've said here you'd leave $64k on the table on a 911 sale to keep your word? Really?

Again, IMO, you would probably be the first to screw someone over in a deal.

Once again, you have created a whole new story line about me. I realize that reality is boring when you can make up stories about folks you don't even know...but confusing fantasy with reality is worrisome. If you are not stoned or just kidding, you should look into getting some professional help.

So you would not leave money "on the table" to "keep your word"...and you question my morals?

I've given away cars for free and refused cash being offered. However, again, I believe it's foolish to be taken for a sucker when you know you're being taken for a sucker.

You've shown on this thread that you're low on the integrity scale.

You know what they say about moral proselytizers... Crooks.
