				Mustang performance anybody?

Looking for a "well set up" 'Stang anybody? This one is being sold by a guy who posts on the Bullitt board. I read his posts on the mods as they happened. It'll handle about as well as a "stick" rear axle street car can, while having plenty of whoa with improved brakes. The blower power speaks for itself in the 1/4 mile time slips. Why is he selling? Like me at age 73, he's thinking rowing a manual gearbox isn't the fun it used to be, so heading in a different direction.

They should sell a 'cow-catcher' for the front bumper with every super-charger. Quick disconnect pins would be nice, just slap it on before you head off to 'Cars and Coffee'.

I'm sure it would be a hoot to drive but that is my least favorite of the new(er) Mustang body styles. It is at $27K with 9 days to go, whatever it ends up going for I think I could do better with my hard earned $$$ Hope you friend gets a good sale, This would be more my speed @ $29K: Turbo 4 banger slush box (does the 6 speed have steering wheel paddles?) new: Cars for Sale: New 2017 Ford Mustang in Coupe, Torrance CA: 90505 Details - Coupe - Autotrader As the old saying goes..."but the newest Mustang you can afford"

I've had several Stage 3 Roush Mustangs, they are fun cars in their own way. Nice looking car, I bet he's losing his ass with all the upgrades that he put into it. If it were me I'd come up with a few thousand more and buy a Boss 302.

They are way under tired as well, I think the stock Roush Stage 3 only had a 275 tire out back.

I'm sure it's a hoot to drive, but that'd be a handful as a daily driver so I'll pass.

They are actually good daily drivers. Comfy ride, good feature content, sound great, reasonably entertaining.

Why is a solid rear axle so bad for handling? It's not like you're going off roading. On a perfectly paved track, how can this even be an issue?

Live axle debate (for track cars) seems like another example of automotive trivia minutia that has little bearing on real life outside of statistical internet pissing matches. (For non-track cars, there is no difference between a Camry and a Supercar, because speed limit, and every one here obeys it. Cue Magnus bashing.) I would imagine track cars running 10/10ths use all of the track available. Doing that would require running on the curbs in corners--making no track super-smooth. Further, if the difference is trivial, wouldn't straight axle front suspensions become common at the track as well? Quote:

How do you get positive camber gain when cornering with live axle? As far as I know, live axle does not allow camber, caster or bumpsteer. It is just a wibbly-wobbly straight rod...

This makes for fun bench racing, but in reality you really only notice the live axle when hitting large. bumps that tend to unsettle the car from side to side. That's when you can get some axle hop. Anything else you should probably be on the track.

Unless your goal is to launch a car as fast as possible in a straight line, live axle is inferior technology. Period. The 'perfect surface' that would let a live axle not get disturbed doesn't exist. I got rid of my 997, and replaced it with a Mustang. Love the Mustang, but I don't have illusions that it handles as well as a well setup 944.
