I ain't afraid of no ghost.
An irrational fear of something like spiders, snakes, whatever is usually a manifestation of a fear of death.

Both of my fears have been covered already...
a) Permanent life limiting injury or illness (paralysis, cancer, etc) b) electricity

My FIL said the silliest thing ever to ever me, "don't touch anything." Yea, like duh! Anyway they would go into the building and call headquarters and tell them we are about to do this, and hear permission granted. It was strange to see two guys 100% focused on the job at hand and then stop, make a phone call to headquarters then they did the next step. Withing 30 minutes they replaced a circuit breaker that took a gizmo like a engine hoist to move it, and a fuse that was the size of my leg. They finished up, the power was back on. They locked the gate and each noted the time the job was complete on their own form and we left. That substation hummed with the power going to it. I guess it takes a lot of juice to make ammonia and nitrogen fertilizer.

Re, above...
I spent about 9 months working for a company that was removing old twisted copper wire from poles up in the mountain areas, and replacing it with modern aluminum wire. (Often, replacing the poles also.) Luckily I found a better paying job and moved on without ever having or seeing an accident on the lines. Unfortunately, a few months later one of the guys was working in the bucket and was caught in a flashover between a hot wire and a ground. He probably died fast, but the crew had to watch as the body and bucket burned up in the wires while waiting for somebody downline to kill the power to that section. A couple guys on the crew quit after that due to how freaked out they were after having witnessed it. One of them is a life-long friend of mine, and it was pretty painful to listen to him tell the story. You could really tell it got into his head. Also... add this to my list. F**K this: ![]()

A colostomy bag... That's more specific than terminal illness. Seen it on a relative, end of the line for me, unless it's very temporary.
