These are not the droids you are looking for, move along. No culpability for Hammy as usual. Remind me, who hit his teammate from behind at Spain last year?

Can someone explain to me what Ross Brawn is saying?

Brawn ready to help new manufacturers & Honda | PlanetF1 : PlanetF1

Is he saying that the FIA can help to design a PU?

I took it to mean that they could craft the rules to give new engine manufacturers more leeway.

^ He's saying after 2020 for sure, but saying that Honda will not get special rules consideration. So is he saying that they'll help some other way?

Straight up Karma from last year when Merc changed Hammy's power unit multiple times in a weekend to skirt / avoid penalty and then have a stable of PWs for the remainder of the season.

Hammy to receive 5 grid place penalty for gearbox change prior to 6 race uses.

Decent race yesterday at the end.

I loved watching Seb and Valtteri run away when Brundle and Ricciardo started the Shuey.

Hammy better watch is back. Bottas is getting closer to 2nd. It would be great to see Bottas win it all. Just take the steam out of this Vettle/Hammy thing.

I was approached to help Honda, due to sit down and talk to them last week but me having a heart attack has but a slight delay on my start date

In F1 the expression used quite ofter is 'F1 is the hardest game in the world', it shows when an engine company like Honda which is not full of idiots are struggling to be competititve.

It's in the sports interest to have close battles between the drifferent teams and engine manufacturers so I think Ross is doing the right thing balancing up the difference to allow teams like Honda to catch up.

Hammy just can't help making bad PR.

He has now snubbed the Central London pre-British GP extravaganza...against team orders and official F1 (or at least it appears) requirement.

Lewis Hamilton snubs Mercedes orders to miss London event | Daily Mail Online

I foresee a fine in his future. Its also antics like this that leave me wondering why people support him. Great driver but a prat.

Max received a 25k Euro fine for walking out after Baku and not going to the reporter coral after he was out of the race.

jesus man, take care of yourself. I love the tech, make sure you get well and keep us posted!

If a team gets it wrong how can they ever get ahead with the limited testing? I sure hope Honda can figure it out, but I've been saying that for too long.

Thoughts and opinions on Fernando's possible choices for 2018?

I have heard everything from 'confirmed IndyCar ride' to a seat at Ferrari or Mercedes (although there was a recent story in Autoweek that nixed those choices.) Renault is a possible choice as is Force India, but I think that would be a side step rather than a step up.

I would like to see Fernando stay at McLaren for 2018. I have a feeling, ok just a hope, that in 2018 the Honda power unit will be competitive. The current McLaren chassis seems to be a very good car that is stifled by a power unit not up the the competition. Honda has forgone the size zero engine design and reset with a design that I have heard is similar to Mercedes. With a little luck and tweaks in design, I feel it will be the winning power unit in 2018. JMHO

The thought is that Kimi's seat is the one that will start the dominoes falling. Unless he moves or is moved out, everything is supposedly set for next year.

Really don't see Fernando going to Mercedes unless Hammy leaves since they had issues when together at McLaren.

I've also heard that him going back to Ferrari is a non-starter due to the departure a few years ago.

I would love to see him in a Williams, if it was competitive again.

I really don't see him going to Indy car. Take last weekend for example: would you rather drive in Austria or the Iowa Corn 300? Hardly 50% of the stands were filled at the Indy car race. Leaving F1 means giving up places like Spa in exchange for what? Long Beach? The Grand Prix of Alabama? I guess if you trade in your Richard Mille for a Timex then maybe but it seems to much of a trade off both in competition as well as locations and amenities. Proper pit garages and pit walls vice pop up tents. Team busses that convert into luxury restaurants and lounges vice Winnebagos.

To me it is like trading in Major League Baseball for single A or the NFL for the Arena league.

Can I see Kvyat going to Indy or less? YES if he is lucky enough to keep a seat at all.

I think what Mark Weber did was the way to go. WEC then quietly retire after a Le Mans win.

Great race today. Turns out the Daily Mail story was absolute BS too.

Can't wait to hear Seb blame Pirelli.

It's shocking when you think about the fact that for Alonso, moving to Force India would be a step up from McLaren. Another retirement, this time due to a fuel pump. This "Spec 3" was supposed to deliver 10HP more than the previous PU.

Had hopes for this season but it looks like Mercedes is pulling ahead and Ferrari is going to be behind from now on. Not that I'm a tifosi, just wanted a fight and someone other than Hamilton winning all the time...

I'm impressed by HULK this year... He and Sainz in that car could be a good team... Sainz deserves to get out of Toro rosso and away from Kvyat ;-) I hope Captain Ahab will get over his health issues soon and can fix Honda ! Speedy recovery !

I'm not sure I would count Ferrari or Kimi out just yet. He drove well and deserved second IMO. OTOH Hamilton always does extremely well in Hungary.
