That looks very tasty.
I've been hooked on Casamigos Reposda for a while...about the same price.
I'll be on the lookout for the Ocho.
Thanks.

Alcohol is bad if you are trying to control weight. All alcohol is high calorie. That said, beer is the worst. I'd switch to a glass of sipping liquor - whisky, tequila, brandy etc.

I went camping recently and replaced the few beers I usually drink at the campfire at night with one beer and some bourbon. It has helped to control weight and had the nice side effect of not having to get up and enjoy 9+ hours of straight sleep!

You turned down a case of wine?

Dude, that is just wrong, not like you have to drink it yourself.

Get up and exercise early, don't eat after 1700, watch the weight come off.

I cut waaayyyyy back on my wine consumption about 5 weeks ago. I was drinking 2 glasses a night, every night. I'm a bit of a lightweight, so that was quite a lot for me. Cut it back to one bottle a week. I've dropped from 174 lbs to 165 lbs in the past month without doing anything else. My damn gut is still there, so I'm going to keep going down to 158 or so. I'm 6'1", so that's pretty skinny.. I haven't been in the 150s since I was about 22!

I'm 5'10" - 11'...my comfortable adult wt. was 155. I boxed Golden Gloves at 138 (17 yrs. old), H.S. football at 150.
Was once just shy of 200...presently 180 and dropping. I'd like to get down to at least 165 (or below).
In my mid 30's I stepped on a bathroom scale and was shocked to see 165.
I'm on a mission to get off all diabetes meds...the best thing I can do is to lose wt.

I would say that if you drink in moderation then alcohol consumption is not a big factor.
I drink 1-1.5 glasses of red wine a day which amounts to minimal calories. If you consume several cans of beer a day then it can impact your weight. Moderation is key.
Adding an hour of exercise a day and eating smaller meals all helps.

Have a tap in my house, let alone two of them, would be the end of me.

I had a 3 tap setup a few years ago, it was great and awful at the same time...gained a lot of weight! Now I have none and I don't miss it and I lost the weight. I'm a beer lover but having kegs aren't appealing anymore because i like to try different things all the time...I don't want to be stuck with the same beer for weeks or months.

You're just not drinking enough.

Speaking of kegerators - I had a neighbor in LA that went through a 15gal in about 2 weeks. I'd ask if he had some parties - no, not really!

It was a good example of what happens if you have a kegerator. He got it for his 50th by his wife. Within a year, I'd say he put on 30 pounds.

I would love a kegerator, as I think many beers are so much better on tap than from the bottle, but watching the neighbor has convinced me of not going there ...

Disagree on this one. The difference between drinking 1.5 glasses of wine / day and drinking water is VERY significant. You will need more than an hour of moderate exercise to make up for that 1.5 glasses of wine.

Large glass (250ml) of average strength red wine = 214 calories
Average wine drinker puts on half a stone of fat a year, says campaign group - Telegraph

Say you have an extra 300 calories a day - that is 110k/year. If you assume 3500 cal per pound, you will gain 30 pounds by adding the daily wine ... or on the contrary, you will lose 30 pounds if you quit drinking.

Don't be fooled. Alcohol is NOT good for you if it comes to weight ...

You definitely have to choose wisely. I have a really great hefeweizen from KC Bier Company (fantastic stuff) and Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. The hef is great, my wife and I both like it and it's much better on tap. The Summer Shandy has worn out its welcome, I still like it but not as an every day beer. I'm doing my best to pawn it off on my visitors. To help with the weight control thing, I may get a keg of Michelob Ultra or Miller Lite to counter the tasty but not healthy hef.

Yeah, as I said that would do me in.

Plus there is no way in hell I am putting taps in Mrs.5543's kitchen. I could get away with that in the garage but no way in the kitchen.

I may have to show he your classy looking setup, that does look nice.

It only took 10 years in the house and about two months of hard work to get it done! Last big home project is complete. It helps that she enjoys beer too.

Nice work but that looks like it can be the start of a new bad habit and dieabeatus.

A little know fact - I'm the only person who knows it The more red wine you drink, the more the alcohol dissolves the fat out of your arteries. So in other words you can enjoy the most revolting fatty food as food as you drink red wine with it.
