Anyone order truck tires online?

I always get my MC tires online but have never done for the truck. Any recos?

Shipping costs may get nuts on load range E HD tires. I did order my camper trailer tires (205/70/15) online, and had them delivered, and it was reasonable.

Last time I put new tires on my Jeep I bought from "The Tire Rack." Huge savings for me of almost $400 because the local guys wanted full retail. The tires were on sale at the Tire Rack and there was an expensive $150 shipping charge, but maybe that's what it costs anymore. However The Tire Rack lets you choose a local installer and quotes you an agreed install and balance charge.

So take those three numbers, tires, shipping, and install, add them up and then compare to your best priced local guy. If you're only saving a few bucks I wouldn't bother, but if it's worth it to you... Just be sure you cover all the hidden fees when you do your ciphering.

4 E Load tires from Tire Rack for a GMC 2500HD were under $100 shipped. much depends on your location to their distribution center i think. they had a good selection of truck tires. I go to them for Track tires, car and truck tires, good research capabilities and cost IMO. not sure what MC tires means in truck terms...

Bought Dunlop tired online for the Accord for $338 to the door. Worn out in 20K miles. Same happened to a friend. Not sure what the answer is????

I have got several sets from Discount Tire Direct - free shipping.

I have used their warranty before as well, no muss, no fuss.

I've never had a problem getting Discount Tire to match the Tire Rack price.

When I've bought wheels and tires, I do buy from Tire Rack.

A while back Discount said they couldn't get the tires I wanted so I bought from Tire Rack and took them in to my usual Discount. The manager asked why I didn't just buy from them and I told him they said they couldn't get them. He got rather pissed at one of their employees

Tire Rack, many times. As has already been posted, use the Tire Rack plus shipping price and see if the local dealer will match. Like David, I've also bought tires from Tire Rack and had them shipped direct to my nearby Firestone store, which they do pretty often.

I have used tire rack for singles that have failed. They have a fresher inventory then what local suppliers will have. And that's just based on the fact that on one truck local only had 3 in stock, bought the fourth from tire rack. The TR tire is the only one not dry rotted after 3 years.

But never bought a full set from them. I do plan to buy some ag tires online next season, and trailer tires from Amazon.

I've used Tire Rack in the past, but the last time, the local guys beat the price and threw in the road hazard tire warranty. I had better luck with Tire Rack for the BMW with the expensive tire.

I ordered new tires from tire rack a couple weeks ago. Had them delivered to a local mobile installer through tire-rack. I ordered the tires on a Tuesday.

Two days later the installer called and asked when would be a good time to install them. i said tomorrow (Friday)? They said how about between 1 and 1:30 pm?
I said great.

The truck showed up at about a quarter to two and the guy went to work and had all the tires mounted and balanced in about 45 minutes for $100 total.
3 days after I ordered them.
I saved over $350 vs. buying them from the local goodyear dealer.

No waiting around, no getting a ride or getting someone to pick me up, I never had to leave my property.

From now on that is the hot ticket, ALL tires I buy will be handled the same way.

PS free road hazard warranty thrown in courtesy of tire-rack.

I've shoed my car and my wife's car using Tire Rack and a local installer. Haven't done my truck yet, but I'll shop them for sure when it is time!

I just kept an eye open for closeouts on name brand tires that met my criteria. Safe a couple three hundred bucks per car. Had them shipped right to the local tire shop I use. It was a breeze.

Just bought a set of winter tires/rims for the X5 from tire rack and they arrived the next day standard shipping $150. Sitting in the garage waiting for the car to come out of surgery.

This. I bought a set of tires for the Subaru last month and caught them with free delivery, a manufacturers rebate of $80 and a Discount Tire Direct rebate of $75. Both rebates in the form of a pre-paid visa card and those arrived in my mail in the past week. $245 for a set of really nice Hankook tires to my door when all said and done. Tire Rack nor local dealer could come close to that.

Discount Tire is a high-pressure sales organization- they do everything to try to scare you into buying new tires, literally their inventory control sucks- last 2x I went there both times the orders fell thru due to not in stock, and they are a general PITA to deal with- I've had surgeries that took less time than buying tires from them.

Not to mention the workmanship is shoddy, either overtightened, or undertightened is what I've had to deal with.

Once Discount even switched my BFG Comp TA+4 for Comp TA's without my permission, and even installed them until I noticed it.

Tire Rack, and Firestone for installation from now on. No hassles, no 1,000,000 questions on usage, no counseling on why I should buy this or buy that, none of that.

I just bought my last Michelin PS4S from Tire Rack, and fast good price, no hassle- didn't even bother with Discount. Even the road hazzard they offer works well. Used it many times in the past.
