I was just wondering if all you guys with negative or sarcastic responses have ever been to a car show.You seem thick headed.There has been a chevy under the hood of old fords forever,why cause they can,not to mention all the other cross bredds there are but I guess if you don't know how to change a set of spark plugs you would not dream of an idea where you would have to get dirty."Keep it in your sneaker"

Yeah, that 330 hp crate motor from JEGS for $3095.00 is looking pretty good. Now if I could just get the fan noise from a SBC.

BuaAHahHAhaHAHA!!! actually..i dont see anything wrong with a V8.. HP is Hp, i dont really care where it comes from...but i have to admit, the air cooled sound is awesome...out of curiosity, i'd like to see that metro powered 911... nothings cooler than creativity... |

We haven't seen this thread in a while, and the how old are you thread is getting close to having more replies.
Can't have that, nobody is hollering at each other in that one, so no fun. My take on the issue: Not my first choice, but if it saves a car from the scrap yard because a new engine cost's too damn much, go for it. Flame away. Tom |

If I were doing a V8 conversion, I'd use a 454 big block. Cast iron block, intake manifold and exhaust manifolds. I want LOTS of weight back there. Because I think it would be the ideal setup for a modern day Little Red Wagon:

I think that this one is an excellent example of a powerful fuel injected mid engine big block that would probably handle well too.

I really don't see anything wrong with anyone doing whatever they want to their car but I have a naturally aspirated 3.2 Carrera that will and has on two occasions left a 5.0 mustang and a 84 Corvette in it's tracks. Not from a standing start, but from a 30 -35 mph rolling start. Standing starts are too hard on the clutch.

Hmmm, personally I like my boxer 6, but this when done right (sounds like this one was) is also cool. The sound coming out of a 911 would be hard to get used to though.
Sounds like you went with a carb that's a tad large. You'd get more bottom end out of a 650. Again, Cool Has anyone mentioned that you should post pictures? ![]()

I am blown away at how long this thread has lasted! I built the car two years ago.
As an up date the car is still progressing. More power equals bigger brakes equals better suspinsion equals roll cage equals bigger trans and so on. The car is still fun to drive on street but just this side of a full racer car. Now I am at 528 hp, 13in brakes and bone jaring, eye blurring suspinsion, but I smile from ear to ear everytime I drive it. At two D.E.s in the past year I have been moved up a class because I was passing every car in class. It has been a challange to cool this much HP and I am still not were I want to be, but I suppose like most projects, it is a work in progress. See ya at the track, Keith ![]() |

HMMMM not to question you but what is in the motor to make this much horse power, have you had it dynoed? must have what 14-1's in it, what maybe a 430, hmm, just wandering, you drive this on the street?

Sorry just found what's in your motor, I have a 355 13-1's 6 inch rods 45lb crank dart heads (completely flowed $1200 in machine work) with 2.06 valves torker manifold roller cam, pete jackson gear drive, 750 holley barry grant, oval track motor, it will only run on 110 at 1200 rpm, 510 horse, you have to fill me in on your motor guy, how can i contact him? no serious, if you guys can get that kind of horse power out of a flat top motor, I need to contact your guy, Kevin
