My girlfriend had prompted me to getting pack to a few long past hobbies. Modeling is one of them. I started with a semi-scale Beneteau sailboat.

Cool forum. I haven't built a model car in years but here are a couple that I have from many years ago. I also have some 1/32 scale Eldon slot cars from 1968. The bodies are very detailed and I'd like to paint the details but don't know how I would paint the trim around the windows, windshield, that sort of thing. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

I must have built over a hundred plastic models in my lifetime, a few balsa ones, a few metal ones.

Been ten years since I build a plastic one. For the past 15 years my models have been from scratch, many covered in modeling clay.

I build architectural models for my business every chance I get, typically takes me longer to clean up than to build. I work really fast, but very basic mass models. I can do finish models but very few want to pay for them.

Some of the last plastic models I did were of the two Horten flying wings, over $30 each about 15 years ago, the cost kind of cured me. I have a large garbage bagfull of plastic models still in their cellophane wrapped boxes waiting for me to get to them.

I stopped browsing the model section of the hobby stores long ago, no longer reminder of my youth.

Have you 'played' with plastic printing yet? I built a printer early on, I think it is something you would like. Designing an upgrade now.

You can get usable 'real' results fairly easily.

You wouldn't print whole structure, but IMHO it would be useful for printing stairs, roofs, etc. Shells print fairly quickly.

Frame assembled with CA and baking soda. It will need some extra bracing before I start painting it. Visibility is pretty poor, but I knew it would be.

Nice job! I love weathering too. MicroMark sells several products for different types of weathering, but I try things like coffee and salt with great results.
