How do I find rich crazy people?

Do I have to go to Hollywood?

Our product was originally designed for off-grid, but allows a multi-layered approach to keeping the lights on. It SEEMS like a great product for preppers, but most preppers don't have money.

So far, I have found and sold 3 large systems for "rich" preppers in the area, including one that specifically wanted to protect his solar array (60kW) from EMP.

Preppers are DIY'ers. They don't like buying things ready to go. They want to build it themselves. Instead of selling whatever it is already built, sell them the idea of how they can build it on their own and let them source materials, etc. to build it as cheaply or expensively as they wish.

Leave info packets on the seats of the first five rows, on the 50 yard line, at the Super Bowl. (Or bribe one of the ushers to do it.)

You may want to talk to people who build safe rooms and install security glass... get those customer lists. (easier said than done, I expect. NDA's and all)

THAT is actually a pretty good idea. And we have a "new" high end indoor range. Maybe worth talking to them about advertising...

Again, good idea. They won't sell the list, but maybe work with them to provide the system for that type of client.

Walmart is supposedly a 'uuge purchaser of solar. Perhaps they are opening a local branch? Same with Google and probably other tech companies or anyone with localized needs in the boonies or who might be vulnerable to natural disasters. Puerto Rico still is 50% without power. Need to advertise. People don't know what they are missing. But first they will need to receive a complete cost benefit analysis and run it through five levels of bureaucratic oversight ending with HR. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_of_Death.

(If teh OP isn't a CIA internet plant hunting down rouge preppers then it should all check out ok. )

Can you still buy mailing lists?

Did it a long time ago to target rentals in one of our complexes to specific businesses.

Used to be able to target incomes. Or wealthiest counties/towns.

We're selling a lot of systems in PR. And suprisingly, "Hollywood" is buying systems. An RV manufacturer is selling RVs to Hollywood and they want solar on the roof.

Cool stuff. Maybe go to the P-car dealership and put brochures in all the glubboxes!
Really, how about geo-fencing the highend dealerships, shopping areas, even competitors, and (assuming they have location services turned on) targeting an text blast with your info? We do this with our competition and can even track those that shop us (secondhand retail) due to the blast. We also target our audience on Facebook with pretty good results and it’s cheap as chips compared to “conventional” ways of advertising, which are pretty much ineffective anymore.

This is a great idea. You need to establish a relationship with architects and builders who design multimillion dollar houses. They’re tho ones who know who is in the market for safe rooms and off grid electrical backup systems. If you provide the product in a way that the builder can supply it and mark it up it will be a profit center to them and they will try to sell their clients on it.

Try zip codes. Really. When I moved to my current city, I commented to my wife that our quality of junk mail increased significantly.

You gotta take your message to your market.

Higher income in the middle of the US is middle income on the two coasts. (Don't flame me!!!) What someone in La Jolla thinks is reasonable is just out of reach to most people in much of the US.

Post a link.

Good luck!
