I can get through a mediocre steak,

But a poorly executed lobster is nasty.

Lobster and shrimp are really falling of the back of my truck for some reason. Seems like the texture and taste of each has changed drastically with our environment.

I suspect why some people don't like lobster is because it's been boiled and/or over cooked. I put it on the BBQ like this and give it five minutes or less.

Totally agree! Lobster on the grill, never boiled or steamed for us.
This one was 10 Lbs.

Why do you ask? Are you considering substituting for lobster on Steak-and-BJ day?

Edit: Oops...didn’t read to end of thread. Great minds...

At one time it was considered abuse to feed lobster to prisoners or slaves.
I like them both.

Love me some seafood gumbo, shrimp, fish, crab or even clam. I'm not really a lobster fan, and am rather picky about the way a steak is prepared....it has to be a good cut to start with, and only grilled to medium rare with minimal seasoning.

Steak over lobster, but probably several things over steak.

I love both but didn't eat lobster until I was in my 20s. The reason was when I was a young kid, my parents bought a lobster for dinner (5 people). They had never had it before & didn't know how it was cooked, so they baked it in the oven for 45 minutes. Of course it came out dry & rubbery, and we all couldn't understand how anyone would like ever it.

Ill take steak over lobster in a heartbeat.

Seafood is my favorite food, but was never a huge fan of lobster. Totally overrated to me.

No question I would prefer steak. Like others, it would have to be the right kind of steak, a ribeye, and cooked it to my preferred level of doneness, which is a little short of medium rare. You can **** up a steak just as badly as you can a lobster, so it's not a sure thing.

And properly cooked lobster is not a bad thing, but it's a rare thing. Most are not properly done at all. Having said that I much prefer crab, any number of other shellfish, and more than a few fish. I do like a lobster bisque, if the chef knows what he's doing.

Hate seafood. Allergic to shell fish.

Steak!

I love lobster, but steak is easier to cook. Just go to Costco and get some NY Steaks and I'm good to go. If I knew how to cook a good lobster, I'd probably eat more of it. In the meantime, I just eat shrimp. lol

I'll eat anything over steak. Hate it. Can't get past the blood and if you cook it long enough to not moo then it's shoe leather. Give me lobster ANY day!
