Here's a nice one of the PP car in for a pit stop yesterday. He's pulling out after the stop and his rear tire is spinning and the front tire not rolled yet.

On Thursday during qualifying I was in the Mustang Stamping team pit when the driver was getting in the car. This is the car that won today.

It was not Porsche's day to win but an enjoyable race to watch . That winning DP crew was biting their nails watching their driver limp a sick car to victory . Had the weather been warmer it may have been a different outcome . And what's with the team Konica Minolta car blowing up so many tires ??? The interviews with Alonso were a hoot , I think the guy was having fun again behind the wheel of a car , good for him and I'm sure you will see him at Le Mans . And that was the first EVER win for a Lambo car in a 24 hour race ? That surprised me . And thanks to all you guys that posted pics I enjoyed all of them .

Nice win for Lamborghini but I was pulling the Acura.

Any of y’all see what happened to the #58 Porsche on the warm up lap?

Cold tires is what a team member said when I asked after the race.

There were blown tires on many, many cars and there seemed to be mostly right rears going out, but I don't know a tally.

There was an interview with a Continental guy during the morning hours and he said they'd confirmed that two of the blowouts were due to a puncture and they'd be inspecting all of the other tires to see if they could determine the cause for their failures.

Also this morning, Tommy Kendall and one of the other announcers were talking about it and he said he had spoken to someone (can't remember who) and was told there was a turn on the track where a lot of the drivers were dropping the right rear off when they cut too far over the curb. It had been determined that at this particular spot, the edge of the curb was very sharp and was cutting into the inner sidewall of the right side tires.

Good video Baz. Actually gave a better idea of the scope of the track than the TV coverage.

The place is massive. Yet it is very well setup for fans.

Nice video compilation, Baz. I may have walked by you once or twice.

Thanks guys but I didn't shoot that video....I just posted it.

It was shot by a guy who lives just down the street from me.

If you check out his channel he does a lot of videos of events and scenery in our area.

Joe Addalia

I think he does a very good job and hope one day to meet him just to shake his hand....

Hey, in a 24 hour race, a finish is a win...

Can you share what happened to delay them? Did a componet break, or was it a "off track excursion" or did another car hit them?

I know the both 911 and 912 had some big off track incidents.

At lease a car with a Audi engine and the same VW corporation owned by the Porsche families won the that class.

I've got about 1700 photos to go through. But I'll post up some of the Park Place/Pelican Parts car.

Unforgettably the driver's door had the PP logo on it and sometime during the night the door was damaged and the one they replaced it with didn't have the logo.
The drive's side is the side toward the crowd when you're in the infield so they wasn't much reason to shoot anymore shots of it. Here is a shot from early this morning with the new door.

Not sure how far on fri, but walked over 12 miles on Sat, phone died, so not sure how far the rest of the time & early Sun AM "strolls"
Brian, sorry we never caught up, Geneman, THANKS AGAIN, for the parking pass.
All & all, a great weekend, sure, legs are a bit stiff, a few blisters on the bottom of my feet, but a great time & worth it.
