Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum Spf 100. It is not greasy like most and it is a great sun block. I don't want any tan. My dermatologist lectures me every year becaue he can see the tan line from my wrist watch and ring.
I was going to recommend the same product. It is expensive but feels so much better and it is very effective. You really don't feel it when it's on. Spending the extra for Neutrogena is far better than going naked.

The other product that you might like is the new spray on sunscreens. They aren't quite as comfortable as Neutrogena but they're really convenient and they aren't greasy like normal lotions.

you know. we went to the skin seminar at out hospital.

spf 50 is the same as spf100, you just have to reapply it twice as much. (that's what they told us)..they were showing us all of their sunscreens. i went to sit down. it was too much. a few minutes later, they were all going thru my wife's bag and trying on her contraband stuff..it was pretty funny to watch. some random dermatologist listening to my wife drone on about sunscreen.

my wife's superpower is stopping the sun.

i texted her for the link.

there are some suncreens made for men. they come in the form of a wetnap. very light feeling, easy application.

burned my eyes while exercising; so i moved on.

The only time I wear sunscreen is if I plan to be in the sun for hours at a time.

Worst sunburns of my life - both involved no sunscreen
1. I was 10 and floated lake Tahoe all day on a raft. I had layers of skin coming off my legs the very next day. The remainder of the trip I spent laying on my stomach in a tent. (I blame my parents)
2. Spring skiing in Mammoth Mtn. I was a freshman in High School. Driving home Mom decides to apply petroleum jelly to my very lobster face. Made down the hill to Bishop where I went into a Denny's and used scruffy paper towels to wipe the stuff off. My lips cracked open when I tried to eat food for a couple weeks. Miserable experience.

I take a supplement called Astaxanthin. This is primarily for eye health however it has a natural sun screen effect. It is what gives fish UV protection.

I can say from my own experience that this definitely works as a sun screen. I went to Disney land in August '17 and was there for 3 days. I did not burn one bit (which I would normally do) and I didn't wear sunglasses one of the days and noticed that I had no issues with glare or the need to wear sunglasses (this is also not the norm for me).

From what I've read, it takes a few weeks for the product to have these benefits. I take it every day.

You guys that live in warmer climates than Canada - what do you wear to keep from getting sunburnt?
I'm a ginger (redhead), living in Arizona. I wear a hat and call it good.

Good point.

I have red hair (had, I guess) and whiter than sour cream and when we lived in El Centro I wore a hat all the time. Still had to have a growth removed from the middle of my back. I use Cetaphil a lot now as recommended by my dermatologist.

I have an "Ice Monkey" background (Norwegian) and a Ginger to boot. I should wear sunscreen more than I do, but prefer the spray on stuff. Usually whatever they have at Costco, but was reading a Consumer Reports review of sunscreens and Target's brand Up & Up had the highest rating.

That has always been the case, 2018 is no different.
I rarely wear sunscreen but when I go out in the sun for any significant period of time I wear a big floppy straw hat like the gardeners around here often wear.

nah, I'll stick with a schmear

Side Effects
While astaxanthin has no known toxicity and common side effects are minor, there are a few rare ones you’ll want to watch out for:
Headaches
Increased Acne
Lower libido
Male breast growth
Erectile dysfunction
Lower blood pressure
Reduced calcium
Some reports claim that astaxanthin can work as a testosterone enhancer in some users, but the results are not conclusive. No studies have been done to assess astaxanthin’s effects on pregnancy and lactation, so pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised against taking it.Due to the way astaxanthin can boost your immune system, anyone who is taking immunity-suppressing drugs should discuss the use of astaxanthin with their healthcare provider.Avoid taking astaxanthin if you’ re currently on any medications for high blood pressure.

Dude, you live at the top of the world.
You would think so. But in the summer the days in Canada are 2 to 3 hours longer than yours. In the winter, if you spend any time out doors it is really easy to burn your face. The sun hits it and what doesn't hit it reflects off the snow then hits it. This is not a complaint though, love the sun!

I tend to burn rather easily. Not a complete "day-walker" but close - LOL! I actually swim in a long sleeve UV shirt and have to snorkel with a hat on... It's hard being cool like me.

This is my "go to" with 7% zinc oxide and no oxybenzone (toxic to coral). It does not stay white on your skin. White, then blends in shortly. I have good luck with Banana Boat sport during bike races. Anything else tends to sweat off and somehow get into my eyes.

I just wear a big hat and long sleeve shirt, old dress shirt generally. I put sunscreen on if I am driving anywhere, Really it is best to not be outside when the sun is high in the sky, if you can avoid it. I have a fairly dark complexion, no suspicious looking skin lesions, yet. Spotted a couple melanomas on the wife though

Blue eyed/light skin here and spend 75% of every day outdoors now...mostly on the golf course. I go to the dermatologist for a full body check once a year to get barnacles sizzled off and have had Mohs surgery to take stuff off my back. Most problems one has today were created when younger. I always wear a hat and use sun block on my face and ears and prefer the kind that's like a stick deodorant. Dark glasses are important too as the sun may be worse on your eyes than on your skin.

Don't wear cheap sunglasses. You want to block UV light, not look cool
