Time to kick Kimi to the curb
Ferrari needs to tell Kimi to take a hike and replace him with de La Rosa or Bianchi during the summer break. Preferably De La Rosa.
Kimi really sux this year, most likely because he's being compared to Alonso which would make almost any driver look worse. but Kimi is acting like he's already given up. That is why he needs to go on his merry way. |

He's been mailing it in all year. Last year he was hot, this year not at all.

Agreed. Sad to watch, as I was a fan - initially happy to see him join the team.

Me too, I was a fan and expected great things out of the competion between mumbles and alonso.
Didn't happen tho. Alonso repeatedly has seemed to out-perform the car, whyile Kimi has had a slew of unfortunate accents, poor qualifying, it's like massa 2.0 kimi did pretty good last year in the lotus. Massa sucked for most of last year but is doing pretty good this year in the williams. I draw the following conclusions: ther ferrari F1 car is way worse than people realize, and alonso is allot better than people give him credit for. |

Alonso is the best driver on the grid by a considerably margin. Sticking with Ferrari has derailed his career. Kimi has always been fast in a good car, but has no idea how to drive a car beyond its inherent limits. Alonso excells at that. Ferrari deserves to keep Kimi, but certainly not Alonso. Alonso needs to kick Ferrari to the curb.

I got a feeling that in a few months there will be lots of people updating their resumes to say that they USED to work for Ferrari's F1 team.
Ferrari just has to kiss Ross Brawn's butt enough to get him back and give him complete control and their troubles would all be over. |

the Ferrari is not a Q3 car...though Alonso often makes it one. the ferrari is a junk car and kimi knows it, lost motivation, and is probably just happy to be getting a pay check.
I think that should have ben hulkenburgs ride, at least he is hungry.. |

I have a hard time understanding why Mattiacci got the job... seems like some sort of patronage appointment!

Ross Braun isn't any more likely to go back to Ferrari than Michael is at this point.
This is the pattern at Ferrari. We can expect a decade of utter mediocrity before they rise again from the ashes. Oh well, at least Williams are coming back. That could be a sweet gig for Alonso next year.

And while I'm disappointed in Kimi too I wouldn't count him out just yet. Remember when everyone said Hamilton's career was over because he decided to go to Mercedes? Quote:

Is the thought that Alonso goes to Williams and kicks out Massa?

Agreed. I'd love to see Bianchi given a chance there...
Can't explain the Kimster. He's talented, showed it before and again at Lotus, but he seems to like a specific kind of car and not be able to drive around problems like Alonso can. And yeah, Alonso in a good car would probably clean up... It's all car car car, look at how Vettel was made to be the second coming over the past 4 years and now Ricciardo is cleaning his clock... No offense to Ricciardo but he wasn't *that* much faster than Vergne, etc... another example of not being able to drive around the problem, I guess... It's kinda sad to see Alonso wasting his talent in the red dump truck, but Mercedes is full, Red Bull looks set, McLaren looks Williams has for the past 10 years. Ooh, Williams ? Replacing Massa ? ;-) |

I would hate to see Massa lose his ride. One of the nicest, most genuine guys in all of F1 and he just can't seem to catch a break. Very talented driver, but perhaps past his prime. Looking at it purely pragmatically, seeing Alonso bump him from Williams might just prove to be the equivalent of Hamilton to Mercedes. Williams are definitely on an uptick - Alonso might be just what they need to close the deal.

Alonso does drive the wheels off that thing every race where as Kimi doesn't seem to have the fight.
Replacing Kimi with De La Rosa?? I could think of a few better candidates than him. Isn't he in his 40's now? Ferrari need to break tradition and get some young guys in.

De La Rosa and Bianchi are already on the payroll and know the car. I'd be pretty easy to slip one of them in. Iffn I were them (and they're glad I'm not) I'd have try-outs at the next test or practice session. Super-softs, light load of fuel, everyone gets three laps to see what they can do. Winner gets to drive on Sunday. |
