Buttonwillow really is pretty narrow and tight. I think I remember he left it in third gear for at least a lap or three. Hopefully he chimes in.

The only people who bash Vettes anymore are clueless old geezers who haven't had a clue in a decade.
The world has left them and their flip phones long behind. 'Vette is a EuroSuperCar killer for a fraction of the price. GM muscle is where it's at. Has been for many years, as Euro badges now just cater to housewives.

Stupid price for sure, but an impressive car none the less. Which is the title of this thread.

Watched a good video of a 991 vs a Vette GS, oddly enough the straight line went to the Porsche while the driving dynamic went to the Corvette. Seems like the Grand Sport is the sweet spot between grip and power.
In a few years they will be 40K, which will be an amazing bargain for such a capable car.... Can't imagine how crazy the C8 will be.... |

well...now to get it home. Black '08 Z06, LPE 630, coilovers, ZR1 clutch, 12k miles, 1500 on the LPE stuff, never in rain according to 2nd owner who bought it from the estate of his friend.

I did not purchase the first Z06 I drove (the driver had tracked it pretty hard and drove it really hard in the test drive) and the second was simply too nice for me to buy and drive without feeling guilty. This car is not a Z07 car but has had the LS7 valve guide issue addressed when modified by LPE. It also has coilovers installed (no Z07 magnetic shock issues) and I can drive it whenever I want and not feel like I'm doing something to reduce it's value by enjoying it. Of course, it can be scary fast and demand driver respect when being driven but still idle on pump fuel with the A/C running. I hope to install an AP brake set-up and some painted and subtle Forgeline wheels but am in no big hurry to start in with that.
I think the C6 is old enough now to not draw C7 levels of goof-ball attention, thjs car still has its "mild to wild" switchable exhaust and the color isn't shouty so I hope to enjoy owning it and giving my kids some fun memories. I understand that this is a P-car forum and have watched the wild horse-car thread issues so I hope to contain my enthusiasm and continue to enjoy the forum without being filleted for occasionally posting when an opportunity seems right.

Its OT so I do not think anyone will complain about a Z06 thread. I daily drive a Cayman S but have been thinking about a C6 Vette too. Who says we cant have more than one fun car ??

It’s damn hard to get more car for the money than a Z06 Corvette. No judgement here, well done! Where are the pics?!

Sugarwood, we just don't send some of the best European sportscars to the USA because they would be wasted on the likes of you .
The new generation Corvettes are high performance cars, no doubt, but they are just too big to chuck around on European roads |

It looks like every other black C6 Z06 which is fine with me. I’ll try to remember to post an image tonite but it’s not too special until it fires up and even then there are getting to be a lot of warmed over C6’s out there. I hope I like ownership of it!

I did not find the C7 to be any significant pain to drive around than a 991 911. I don't have the C6. The C5 Z06 I have does not have a good tight turning radius at parking lot speeds, maybe the locking diff is part of that. |

This would be the time for a power-on oversteer moment...and hope that nobody is filming the aftermath.
