Remove alternator belt without pins in the pulley

New belt comes tomorrow. My pulley does not have the holes for the tool to hold it in place.

Am I missing a part here?

Doesn't look like mine - that looks like it was cut from a fan.
What year?
Others will chime in.
Mine (PN 93010620902) looks like this:

I'm in Horsham BTW

Just in case, and perhaps you are aware already, but please don't stick anything into the blades to stop it from turning as you wrench lest you risk busting them.

We gotta get you an answer.

You don't need a tool to hold the pulley unless the belt is horrendously loose. Grab the 2 opposite sides of the belt (between the pulleys) and squeeze them together to increase the tension. This will keep the belt from slipping while you loosen the alternator nut.

can anyone confirm if the belts are the same size. or will i need a different size belt seeing that the pulley is from an earlier year.

76 is a 725 and the earlier stuff looks like a 710

looks like the belt on there is a 740...

depends on the size of the lower pulley.

get both, the 725 and the 710, they don't cost the world,

730 and 735 are often used with non stock pulley arrangements.

An impact gun should also loosen that nut easily if you have one.

You can use a 8mm hex key to hold the alternator shaft.
