Ivan here is one, just for you.. couple years back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyPuTVH2WQk&t=12s |
a little outing between the engines work--and after a little arbeit on suspension -i went for a fresh air with the beast..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DEZPSrcm4s next video, installing engine with just a floor jack |
I look forward to the next video, as I will be dropping my engine this winter. I want to try it without doing the engine and tranny together.
|
Just finished the 75 engine in 78 body ..next 71 911T

so winter is here ..not my favorite time of the year...i decided it is the time to refresh the spring plate bushing,Since they`re original from 1985.Kinda pita job but if you are not in a hurry it is rewarding after all..
To my surprise i have found from factory cosmoline on the spring plates and under it, still perfect zink treatment of the plates. I just washed them all and installed...a lot of measurement prior and after assembly.... Now back to the 2,4 S 1971 engine i`m building..... Happy New Year to all of you ... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1735654977.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1735654977.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1735654977.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1735654977.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1735654977.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif |

Good looking motor!

Had to get some food for our chickens in Germany today-good reason to take the beast out for fresh air..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16KNZlvQsRE |
I guess we have finally summer here.I was still using my wood oven just a 2 weeks ago....grr
So i went to Germany today but 1st i put in my beast 3 l Toluene and a little top it of with Shell 100 octane gas i had in the garage.Last week i changed the front shocks and finally removed the spacers on the top of the shocks..what a different drive..i did the tow and camber and caster at home (still have to go the those spec people) But the car handles so nice....every time i drive it it does put a smile on my face... On the video is a little car-schmuck ..I hate when people use theirs turn signal only when they turn or brake in the last moment..after that i was getting on a little autobahn and right on the begging on left were standing German highway cops -they saw me with open mouth,i waved -- i stepped on it..border was just 1 mile ahead;-) Lovely Saturday ready for beer now.......... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuoXmNqk1NI |
Ivan, I didn’t know what Toulene was, so I looked it up. From what I read, it’s often already added to high octane fuels to boost the octane (Shell high octane was specifically mentioned). One downside to consider is its negative effectnon fuel system rubber components.
|
Mike -i have been using it since 1998 never had any problems;-) If it was bad ,it would not be used as a racing fuel;-)also it helps to kill the ethanol they put in gasoline in nowadays...which makes the metal parts go rusty ,Look here this gas tank was filled with 85..and this happen...

Another use for toluene in the gas is to get a marginal vehicle through emission tests. Was the hot tip when I lived in Kalifornicated. Worked wonders.
Have fun with the new build! |
Ivan- Thanks for sharing your driving videos- I love that part of Europe and seeing them!

I didn't know they forced ethanol-contaminated fuel on you in Germany. I thought we were the only ones with a corrupt corn farmer lobby.
