Replacing clock with GPS Speedometer

Hi,

Bought this on Ebay. 85mm GPS Speedo. Cost approximately 80 dollars Australian (which in US dollars means very little). A little bit of silicon tape in place of rubber around the clock and a perfect fit. Three wires to connect (Positive, Negative, and one for instrument lights). A straight swap for the clock. A 15min job.

An addition will be a switch on the positive as it always on to be able to turn the GPS Speedo off when car is parked. Then the trip odometer would zero. Something to cut down the glare would be good too

Button on back allows for KPH or MPH.

Can also see in picture a laser-printed speedo face. Mine was too cluttered showing both scales

I like it. You did a good job on the original speedo.

I only look at the giant gauge in the center.
And the drunk press once in a while

Cool. You have the brand name? Didn't see it on eBay.

thanks Bill for the compliment.
It is a laser printed on standard paper with a paper sealer painted over it. Hopefully it lasts.
I would rather use the old speedo but like the GPS speedo there as well.

I did a search for 300km GPS speedometer on ebay.com and found it. Make sure you get the one with the black bezel.

I plan to install a GPS speedo in my project. it originally had a mechanical drive speedo and older 915 gearbox.

I now have a short bell housing 930 gearbox. but depending on tires, gearing, etc had concerns about being able to calibrate an elec or mech drive speedo.

I want to mount in the location of the speedo and a AFR/boost gauge in the clock position.

thanks for the post.

Cool idea. I did a GPS sensor to my stock speedo, and kept my clock.

I have a 3D printer/laser engraver. Would love to know how you made a Speedo face with a laser. Hmmm.

Do you have details on this? I have a '77 with a 3.2 swap and my speedo does not work.

I think you can get the clock repaired for a small fee.
