Dash pad stud install question

On the studs in the dash pad (square inserts with studs near gauges) how were they held to the dash?

I removed mine when I sent it to be recovered. Now I don’t see any glue residue. Suspect I might need to slowly bend out the four teeth so they pull the dash down? Contact cement likely okay too?

Pic of the two studs, teeth are underneath

Contact cement could work if it is industrial strength like 3M Scotch-Weld 1357 Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive.

So the studs are in fairly tight to help pull the dash down a bit over the gauges, right?

dash

Since there can be a bit of stress on these as the dash is tightened down, I fastened mine with JB Weld. Worked great.
