'85 Carrera Wire Loom Routing Help
I'm in the process of putting the wiring harness back in the car after completely stripping it out for body work and paint and I've got a hole in my notes.
The wire loom section (starting at the luggage compartment fuse panel)that provides the connections to the blower resister as well as many of the dash buttons (fog lights, etc) also supplies power/signal to the A/C resistor switch in the passenger side footwell. At this point this loom must pass into the passenger compartment, but I can't figure out where that is. The best picture from the Bentley manual I can find appears to show the loom coming in from the driver's side. But I'm not sure how the wiring would make it to the dash buttons if this were the case. This makes me the think the Bentley pics are showing an earlier model (that and the connector is different). Any pictures or input would be helpful! - Ian ![]() ![]() |

What your holding looks like fresh air blower plug, or fuel sender

On earlier years up to ‘83 ( I don’t really do anything past ‘83) Usually all of the A/C wiring is a separate harness assembly. The connector in your hand is for the fresh air blower motor. The 6 pin plug at the end of it pushes through the dash for the blower control harness to plug into it.
May be different for 84 up, but I doubt it. At least the few 84 and newer Carrera dash harnesses I have repaired haven’t been very different from the SC dash harnesses.

Perfect! Thank you.
This plug also just happens to fit the AC resistor switch perfectly, and it didn't occur to me that it would be used somewhere else. |
