Rust removal experiment

I wouldn't have believed it unless a friend convinced me to try it.

Just regular vinegar in a tub for two weeks.

I have been pretty happy using evaporust about the same result in 6 hours and not a acid.

I might have to try this... throw the parts in a bucket with vinegar.

What kind of Vinegar? Is there something specific to pick up at the local grocery store?? I don't want my parts smelling like Apple cider. LOL!

Vinegar works great. I've saved quite a few woodworking tools that way.

While it may be obvious, degreasing first is very helpful.

If that's Canadian vinegar I think it has a higher percentage of ascetic acid than south of the border

Evaporust works very well also and does not take 2 weeks.
