How do I remove the rear lower fender support?

I want to remove these so I can clean the surface rust off of them - long story.
How do these things come out, do they unscrew? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

Unscrew bolt in bottom. Then look in engine bay. Will be nut holding on the top. Have to flatten safety washer to get a wrench/socket on it. Not much access if you still have engine bay assembled.

Unscrew bottom to release from the fender and then loosen the nut (mine had a folded washer on the support rail in the engine bay). I then unscrewed the bracket whilst holding the nut/washer. Rubber grommets were perished on mine so check and replace. Cleaned up nicely with a quick blast.

Thanks guys. Looks like it may not be that easy with the engine in place, but I'll see if I can get at it.

You're welcome. This was my first ever "help someone else" post. I've been very lucky to be able to read and learn how to do so so much on my first ever Porsche project from a huge range of people here. It feels great to be able to give (even something small like this) back. This forum is amazing and has reduced my blood pressure to safe levels on countless occasions!

Seriously, the pictures and all were SUPER helpful. Thanks.
You must have had the engine out, right? Just curious.

Thanks! Any tips or tricks on how you reached the nut/washer?

Once you remove the bottom bolt to the fender extension you can spin the rod to loosen the top nut and mine then unscrewed with finger pressure. Never messed with the bent washer, leave it alone. Tightened the same way.

How much do these weigh? I was thinking making them in aluminum might be beneficial since they seem like way overkill for what they do

Can you buy the rubber grommet on those as a separate piece?

I did not look into that.....I made my own from some large rubber washers I had laying around.
