Testing oil tank level sender for re-use - advice???

Evening Gents and Ladies, (your choice :-)

I have received back, my 74 oil tank after cleaning testing and painting by Pacific Oil Cooler, (had cooler done too - OK)

Can anyone help me test the sender for re-use?

What ohm reading should i expect at full droop and max??

Any other things to check??

Is the cork, or rubber gasket the best way to go??

Any gasket sealer recommended for reassembly??

Any other helpfull hints??

Dad's car is getting close to getting back on the road after 10 years on the slope.

From what I know, the rubber gasket is for the gas tank. The oil tank uses the cork gasket.

NO gasket sealer. It is just a few inch pounds of torque on the bolts to tighten the sender to the tank. I put mine on, and several months later went in and gave them a little double check in case the cork had flattened a bit in the squeeze.

I'll give that a shot when i get back into the shop. Will also post ohm readings for full and empty - hopeing for confirmation of values before installing tank and sender back in car.

once you take the oil level sending unit out and check it has no broken coil wires , you can adjust the plates where the arm leans against to synchronized it with your interior level gauge so it reads the same as the dipstick- each end is either top
and bottom on your oil level gauge...
