and One fo duh hoessss !!!

Cripes, took a guy long enough to build this one-off, mind-blowing, example of backyard hackery

Only a legend tears down a 993TT motor and tosses the parts in a Grapes Box...

My brother traveled all over Europe back in the late eighties(?). He sent me pictures of the outside of the P factory after hours and one of these Ruf was the only car parked out front.

Is that a factory engine carrier for a TT?

Beautiful subtle build.

Yes it’s a stock carrier, I had to modify the bar slightly, it was cut and welded, then powder coated. I had to maintain the stock carrier cause it houses the turbo return system

Off to my homies shop to fab up a exhaust and intake set up. The plan was to duplicate the stock intake system without all the smog and sensors. Also, my main thing with the exhaust was the maintain the oval exhaust tips that the RUF cars have

I spy a b5s4 smiling lower grille in the homie's shop. Also an excellent 6cyl. tt car if I dare say. In particular: avants rule the fast Audi kingdom

oh, back on subject that exhaust is pretty nice too

So, I knew for myself the oil system was going to be a big hurdle. I started by sourcing a entire NOS 72 set up

Well, pucker up buttercup! Lucky to have a local guy with a 72 so I was able to take a template of the set up

My plan was to fab up a plate I could bolt into the stock oil tank hole that would mount the 72 thermostat

Then I had to make some jumpers from the stock carrera cooler to the front mount cooler, at the time I thought I needed two coolers, but fast forward a few months, it’s total overkill. Car is actually running to cold currently

One of the other RUF mods was the lack of jack holes in rocker panels, so stripped mine down, welded shut, new wurth and paint and bam!

Next order of business was to sort the deck lid and wing situation.

Next the wing. I’ve seen a lot of people bolt a carrera rubber lip on a 930 wing, while it can be done, nothing lines up properly and in the end just looks horrible. So, I cut up a turbo wing and re fiberglass all the lines and curves to match the Carrera rubber!

In the last pic you can see I separated the wing in two pieces so I could glass and body work the inside so this will never be visible
