Rainforest Round-Up Weather Forecast.....
Sunny, hot, twisty roads, fine cars, nice people.
If you live in the Rainforest and miss this one, you might as well just sell your car!

Looks like multnomah falls!

Mt. Hood Brewery and Pub is a good choice as well.

Thanks for the input rfix'n...someday, we'll have to put a face with the handle somewhere between here and Doug's place...perhaps a meeting in between at Stanello's in Fairhaven (old haunt) or maybe the "World Famous" UP & UP Tavern??? Nah, they won't let me back in there... http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

Chuckanut Dr. (when it's actually open) is calling....

As I haven't heard back from either venue I'm tempted to go with the one who is better set up to receive a crowd quickly...Mt. Hood Brewery and Pub it is....until further notice at least.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday ALL look like perfect Targa (or cab) top days to me :D

It's gunna be sweeeet.

Update on the progress. I have the O.K. from the Bossman, I think. The engine for Scruffy is almost together. It would have been together last night, but after setting the sprocket parallelism, the pin for the cam timing left without saying goodbye.

So, tonight I have a new one in my hot little hands and will be loading the engine in the back of the shop wagon, and hauling it to work tomorrow. It should be making noise tomorrow evening.

But, I still may take the C2. I'm not sure that a road trip is the best way to break-in a new motor. (O.K., I admit it. It's the A/C issue.)(..and the stereo...) (and the .....)

Either way, I plan on seeing all you maniacs in a few days. I can't wait!! I miss you guys! (sniff) (tear) (sniff-sniff)

Randy W 07-21-2003 08:23 PM

The girls miss you too, Tyson....get your butt up here buddy (and drive safe) ;)

Doug Zielke 07-21-2003 08:40 PM

Great news, Tyson!
We'll see ya on Saturday morning.

SC Fanatics

Can any of you bring to Hood River the following: I need discarded nipples from a gas filter for my set-up. (1980 SC) If you have any old filters, please, take the nipples off and bring them on the 26th to HR. Only four more sleeps!!!!!!!:D :D :D

Doug Zielke 07-22-2003 12:12 PM

Yuk, yuk, yuk....you'll find plenty o' nipples at the Full Sail Pub after the drive.

Drago 07-22-2003 01:31 PM

That's great news Tyson.

You know though, if you drive the C2 you'll have to drink LITE beer all weekend

Kidding, of course.

Tyson, take a look at your post count....exactly 911...well, not anymore :(

Drago 07-24-2003 07:50 PM

Almost here....

Alright, Saturday is *almost* here!!!

Four little reminders for those who are attending:

1) Please, please, please either be early or arrive on time (8am). John, the manager of the 12th Ave. Cafe is holding 25 seats for us during the busiest part of his day. The drivers meeting will follow breakfast. Be prepared for all participants to sign a waiver, passengers included. Route instructions to be handed out once waivers are signed.

2) Please to the fouth power. Arrive with a FULL tank of gas. This is a big one.

3) The only concievable lunch stop would be the Windy Ridge concessions up near Mt. St. Helens (which we'll take a vote on for driving up to as it'll add another hour minimum to the drive) so bring some snacks if you think you'll get hungry (yes, it's OK to eat in the P-Car, but just for Saturday). Drive time is ~ 6 hours, probably more, with stops, which puts us into Hood River after 4pm, otherwise known as beer-thirty ;)

4) Cab and Targa owners, don't forget your sunblock! Forecast is for sunny skies and upper 70's to low 80's.... :D

Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones....

Drago 07-25-2003 06:29 AM

Bump

Doug Zielke 07-25-2003 06:37 AM

The 'Bomber is excited! Just one more sleep!!

And regarding the drive to Windy Ridge..... This is quite a bit of road. It's a nearly relentless climb, and twisty as hell. But you are rewarded at the summit with a fantastic view of volcanic devastation. And as the weather is going to be clear, the view will be perfect.

This years SCWDP Round-Up promises to be the best ever. See you all on Saturday!

Drago 07-25-2003 07:41 AM

One more thing to add: for those of you who are attending...if you have a set of two way radios (ie Motorola Talkabouts) please bring them along.

Do I need to say that the V1's (or similar) should also be brought along? You know, just in case.... http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat.gif http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/nono.gif http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/spankA.gif

Seems a single BUMP is only good for 3-4 hours (front page)

Drago 07-25-2003 02:33 PM

Island is (once again) correct.

Meet at 8 AM (per the official website). I am such I bone head....

I really hope everyone catches this....sorry for the confusion.

Drago 07-25-2003 04:51 PM

One last bump to benefit those that didn't witness my earlier error. Please note the start time is as it has always been...8am.

See everyone nice and early tomorrow morning.

finadict 07-25-2003 05:04 PM
