Momentum is building for the SCWDP Round-Up 2003!

Please heed Marc's reminder that our reserved room block at the Hood River B-W expires June 26th.

While there *may* be other rooms in Hood River that weekend for latecomers, don't count on it. Hood River is a summertime destination for many prople.

As SCWDP President, I'm looking forward to seeing our soldiers as well as all other Porsche enthusiasts.

Just like last year, this will be another great driving adventure!

Good thinking, Randy.

So to help with directions:
Here's a picture of Hood River, where we'll be over-nighting (Full Sail Brewery across the river) and Mt Hood in the background.

Directions: Head towards the volcano, and then up a twisty road, to here. . .

Any Questions? ;)

I'm guessing Randy Wells will have a bit better Directions for us. ;)

Year-round skiing, BTW. I may need to bring my skis, and enjoy a little summer skiing!

Yes, my map and directions will be handed out to all participants after I drive it one more time on Saturday with my wife taking mileage notes. Some of the roads are only on the best topo maps and their names and the fact that they are now paved are not even noted there. I'm glad Drago approved the Timberland Lodge option - should be a nice break after all those turns!

Skiing????? What about a swim in some clean water?? I don't mean a chlorine-filled pool. Being the end of July, any chance for a dip in some lake with beautiful mermaids??

timberline

here is a pic from just a little bit above timberline when we climbed hood 3 weeks ago. yes i got tired of doing body work and needed a little change of pace. this is from the summit http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/DSC00311-1.JPG towards hood river.

Doug Zielke 06-24-2003 06:31 AM

Mountain climbing, skiing???
You guys are nuts!
Anyway, I suspect you'll be a little too tired for all that after doing the run.....:)

rdane 06-24-2003 09:22 PM

Weather is getting good in the PNW finally!

A buddy and I are doing a quick morning run over I90 and down Ellensburg canyon, back over Chinook pass and into Issaquah on a series of back road twisties with great scenery.

Any one wants to join us we are meeting at the North Bend Starbucks at 8:30am Sunday the 29th and plan to be back by 2pm or so that day with a sit down lunch and a few stops along the way.

Nothing formal but it should be fun! And last I heard the pass is now clear :)

rdane,

The last leg of your drive (from Chinook to Issaquah) sounds a lot like the first leg of the Round-Up, but in reverse of course.

Sounds like a good run...I'll have to check my weekend plans this evening.

Edit: Only two more days to book your accomodations for this years Round-Up. Come on...I know ya want to! Just tell the wife she can have a weekend to herself LATER...it'll all be worth it.

I promise.:D

rdane 06-25-2003 11:55 AM

My wife's birthday is that weekend, imagine how bummed I am going to the coast instead of the SCWDP round-up ?

Hard to deal on that one. We are both looking forward to a fun drive on Sunday though, the more, the merrier!! ;)

Doug Zielke 06-25-2003 12:51 PM

I'm sowing a few seeds for some of our PCA Region members to attend the Round-Up. Some of these guys don't do too much driving.....boy are they in for a surprise!

rdane 06-25-2003 01:10 PM

I do a little driving on the track and I was surprised :)

Drago 06-26-2003 06:23 PM

FOUR pages down in less than a day....shameful.

Last warning and then I'll go back into the unknown.

Book your rooms before the end of the business day for this years CanAm Rain Forest Region Round-Up!!!

Tyson, this means you. Fer' christsakes your home land rust covered boyz miss 'ya...come home an play.... :D

That is all, out.

............................... TAKE HEED ..........................................

Into the cold dark night I go
With my trusty steed and headlights aglow
Knowing not where my journey may end
But feeling that I..... am with my best friend.

Blazen with gold she may not be
Not even a thing of beauty to see
Though sometimes she fails me and leaves me stranded
I dare not trade her lest I be branded

For leaders will come and leaders will go
Even trade for Zcars for claims that "THEY GO!"
But I will be loyal for my cause is just
When chicks see my car I know they will lust

World Domination they say is their plot
But claims of glory is all that they've got
For the fall awaits them... yes that is their FATE
And they've no one to blame but poor Mr. Pate

Your dooms been foretold... for the future I see
There's nowhere to turn .............but to turn to GRUPPE B!

Fer christsakes Stew...that (looks) like pure NW mashed-potato slush your shootin' there. Gotta have a good "lift-and-thrust" to ski that stuff....not that I have any such action in my *older* abilities...

Like I'd ski off the TOP of Hood anyway...Bachelor...another story....:D

Drago 06-29-2003 09:01 AM

Sorry for the delay, finally got off my butt and gave Doug the info we needed for the website.

There are still a few reserved rooms available but only until July 5th, after that they are returned to the masses. Book now!

Check it out at:

I know of a couple that could show....but I haven't heard from them in awhile....perhaps a hint or two to steer me in the right direction?

Gunter 06-30-2003 11:20 AM

I want the mayor, and a brass band out in Hood River on the 26th. Is anybody warning the folks in the area?
