Brass band?
Will you settle for a few dozen kegs of Full Sail beer?

As far as the Mayor is concerned, SCWDP operatives have him in our back pocket.
Muhahahahahaha!!!

:(

SCWDP faithful..

Work related matters have forced me to cancel my trip to the
Roundup in Hood River. I was really looking foward to meeting some Pelicans & hanging out in the Gorge. This would have been THE Porsche event of the summer for me.

Have some beers for me at Full Sail & a Huckleberry shake @
Mike's on Oak St.

If you guys ever make it out to SW Colorado, look me up !

Doug Zielke 07-16-2003 07:19 AM

Sorry to hear that, Chris. We will miss you.
However, with less than 2 weeks to the event, the entry list is forming up nicely.

There has been some confusion as to the Round-Up being a SCWDP "members only" event. Not so. Just as last year, *all* Porsches are invited and welcome.
And remember, there are no entry fees....just a lot of fun!

Click on the Round-Up info link in my sig. for more details.

The L-O-N-G-E-S-T Distance award is back in sight, but still I'm sorry to hear you won't make it Chris.

Marc, for the Award, you might as well have the engraving done early!

Doug Zielke 07-17-2003 06:48 AM

Not so fast, Tim. :)
I think Tyson is still planning to make the gig.

Tyson Schmidt 07-17-2003 07:21 AM

That's right Doug. I've got the pistons and cylinders on, and one bank of heads. It should be making noise this weekend!

Now, I just need to get the time off from work. That will be the tricky part.

Hmmm, 1,100 miles one-way, with 245 front, 275 rear on 8's and 10's with Victoracers (very very stiff ride and no tread). No A/C and black interior (what there is of it). No (working) stereo.

Am I nuts?

Tim Polzin 07-17-2003 07:26 AM

I don't know Tyson. That is an awful long way. No A/C, no cup holders.... you really may want to reconsider.

You're already on the VIP list!
:D

Nuts?

Tyson,

Let's put it this way...*if* I see you and Scruffy in Hood River on July 26th....you don't buy a single beer the entire weekend (when I'm around that is) :D

JW, you too.

I'm tell'n ya. . . get a cardboard cut-out of yourself, leave it at work. . .it will take'm a week to figure out no work is getting done. ;)

Hey Tyson, I'm dangle'n a shiney new valve adjustment tool in front of my monitor. . . .do you see it? . . . shiney. . .move torwards the shine object.. . .you want the shine object.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/kwijl.gif

Tyson Schmidt 07-17-2003 06:40 PM

Well, I better get back down to my garage and start turning some wrenches then. The sooner it's done, the more time I'll have to rest up and properly hydrate before the pilgrimage.

Beer and shiny objects. Are we going fishing?

nostatic 07-17-2003 06:47 PM

man, I'm glad I took my car in for brakes today so the non-cardboard version of Tyson could work his magic.

And for an added bonus, Maxnine was there this AM too...TRE is a social hot spot.

maxnine11 07-17-2003 07:29 PM

not sure if anyone has ever referred to seeing me as being a "bonus"... i might hang around there a bit more once Dave has the air-conditioned customer lounge finished ;) max

Randy W 07-17-2003 08:26 PM

Tyson, I'm sure there will be some fishin' (more like trolling) going on - but not the "merge'n with the sturgeon" kind! The girls are beautiful in Hood River. ;) I hope you can make it...

Drago 07-17-2003 08:30 PM

Mmmm, windsurfer girls....almost as good as surfer girls. There does seem to be a higher quotient of hottiest in HR, but then again I live in Snohomish, WA so almost ANYTHING is better....

Whoah! That was you? I didn't recognize the name on the work order. You should've introduced yourself!

You don't look at all like your picture. Did you get a haircut? ;)

Haircut...facelift...colonoscopy...the usual stuff.

btw, I think Dave should put AC in the bays.

Doug Zielke 07-18-2003 06:44 AM

Tyson,
Just tell your boss you have been called to duty by a secret and highly subversive organization. Muhahahahaha!

A thought.....maybe TRE could get BA out of retirement for a few days, as long as he promised not to f**k anything up while you're away.

Tyson Schmidt 07-18-2003 07:29 PM

Yeah Todd, and you were there when it was relatively cool! Imagine how I felt while tuning Webers, standing behind the car while it's running and revving it up while checking CO. Like standing in front of a blast furnace in the middle of Death Valley! But I'm not holding my breath on the shop A/C. :(

Doug, are you referring to Bruce Andersen? He'll be fine. I'll just leave him Wayne's book! :D ;)

Drago 07-21-2003 12:21 PM

Just a few more teaser picks for this years Round-Up. These shots were taken this last weekend by my sportbike buddy Garrett. Who is the guy we can attribute this years route too. These guys do this trip every year except they camp in Cascade Locks instead of shackin' up at the Hood River Inn....enjoy!

First Big Mountain:

Second Not-So-Big-Anymore Mountain:

Waterfall in Oregon (forgot name):

Looking forward to this Saturday. See all those attending at 9am sharp!

Garrett also reported moderate tourist traffic and VERY LITTLE in the way of law enforcement...not that *they* should be concerned with us.

Also, I"m considering changing our lunch location on Sunday from the actual Timberline Lodge (looks a little formal and $$$) to the Mt. Hood Brewery and Pub in Goverment Camp (base of Mt. Hood). Thoughts? Anybody been there?
