This thread only goes to re-enforce the fact that there is now [more than ever] big money to be made from re-building 911 engines, which is why it is more important than ever to go to shops or individual engine builders with proven track records for consistently high standards of work in this particular field of expertise, this site is one of a handful out there where you will find caring and honest contributors who have extensive knowledge and experience on all aspects of repairing and rebuilding not only engines, but most all other areas of these fantastic machines.

We just took apart an engine that had multiple OMG type mistakes. Came from a well known, long time engine “builder”. You never know.

For a 911 sc, with some knowledge gained, I would pay a small premium for the engine with a few broken dilivar lower head studs that look original vs a car with all steel. I can tell you I was very pleased when disassembling to not find evidence of any prior work done to heads or case separation.
