I'm uncomfortable, need help.
1. I have a 79' SC with the original non-sport seats, which to me are pretty uncomfortable, I feel like I'm sitting on top of them instead of in them.
2. The seat belt does not move in and out easily, so when I'm driving, I feel like the seatbelt is very tight and restrictive, unlike a newer vehicle where you can move a little bit and the seat belt move with you. 2 Questions, 1. Does anyone have these seats, if so, are they comfortable? I do know that is a subjective opinion but some feedback would be nice. Classic Touring T15. 2. Is is possible to loosen up the grip on the seat belt so it moves more freely or possible my seat belts are just old and the mechanism need rebuilding? These two things really keep me from wanting to do long drives. Thanks, I appreciate any info.

Yep, that is wat I have in Kermit . 850 miles a day, for days in a row .
Get the recline tilt right , 26- 28 degrees +- and mount them low! Seatbelt , check the ratchet arm , could be upside down

I own their Lemans R type and they are very comfortable, no complaint. I chose these because I wanted the rear seats usable for kids and you can adjust back rest angle. Might be better for long drives than the bucket types too IMO.

New seats will totally change your driving experience. I got the Nurburgring R seats from BF Torino and I can’t recommend them enough.
Word to the wise however, most of these seats have big bolsters that unless you’re properly sized for them will feel imposing- I’m 5’11” and 145# so I fit perfectly into these types of seats but I wouldn’t want to try if I was much larger.

The seats seem reasonably priced too.

Those look really good, I don't have kids and will be deleting the back seat so wasn't concerned with a reclining seat but that might be a better idea.

I was concerned about how narrow the seats are, I'm 5'8" @185 but my waist is still 32 so hopefully I'll fit ok.

I think the new edition Recaro LS seats are about the best sport seats ever, supportive yet comfortable on long trips.
They were originally from the 80's but they are being produced again.

I wonder if you can source, and send fabric to them instead of their offering?

I have those exact seats in my 78 SC. They are fine installed in an SC using the stock mounting locations if you adjust for tilt by using a spacer.
This is a picture installed on the stock seat rail mounts: ![]() For lower positioning you will have to remove the SC mounting brackets for a custom mounting option. The pictures below show the seats after lowering 2”. ![]() ![]()

I have an 85 Carrera with the stock factory electric seats. I can adjust the recline of the back support, and the angle of the seat for my butt. I long ago found the perfect fit for me. I have done many 12 hour drives and felt like I could continue, but more miles would put in in an area of not good hotels.
I drove to Palm Springs, CA last June. I-10 was closed for several hours due to a big accident, and my GPS routed me south to damn near the border, and then back up to Phoenix, and back to Highway 60 to Magdalena NM and it was a 11 hour drive. The next day I took some detours, and took a tour of the Very Large Array telescope, then down to Truth Or Consequences, NM over to White Sands, NM to the missile museum, but it was 107 degrees outside, so I skipped that and continued to Alamogordo to the Space museum, then up to Roswell, and finally to Clovis. Another 11 hour day of driving. The final leg to Oklahoma City was easy, and it was a 3,500 mile round trip. The factory seats are just perfect for me. I have done many (10 or so) 12 hour driving days and driven my 911 to 41 states, and Canada. I have 191,000 miles now. I can't how any seat could beat the factory seats, but you may have a different opinion.

Seats from a 993 will drop in and are leather 6 way adjustable. EBay is your friend.

![]() I know you haven’t asked for details of other seats but I have just taken delivery of these from GTS Classics and used them in a 1500 mile road trip to a classic event in France last weekend. They proved to be instantly comfortable, at least as good as the standard Porsche Sport seats I removed. |

The period correct sport seats are great. I'd buy a second hand set off the classifieds. They cost a bit but it depends on how much you love the car.
Yep, the seatbelt shouldn't be doing that. Probably should go and see a seatbelt company. I got mine replaced by one of these outfits. |
