Will any collision place do or do I need a Porsche?

Rear ended last night. My car has/had a fiberglass bumper. Looks like the impact tweaked a mounting hole and the rear fender flares. Will any "good" collision place do? Can I monkey grip this back into the correct curvature?

Sorry to hear about this. I was recently rear ended in my new E450, I hate the process to get back on the road.

If you are a member of the PCA I would reach out to some members for any shop recommendations. Likely other members have had to have some fiberglass work done.

I wouldn't just use anyplace. Those are some complex curves on the fender and paint matching is probably going to be a challenge.

Checking with your PCA region is a good idea - there are likely good body shops that advertise in the monthly newsletter. I think the good shops that work on expensive and unique cars are used to dealing with customers with high expectations.

I remember years ago someone backed into our new Windstar minivan. Took it to a local shop that was highly regarded in PCA. There was our little van in a shop full of Porsches, Mercedes, and Ferraris.

That looks like a cool paint job - would love to see a photo of the whole car.

Mark

The fiberglass bumper isn't that big of a deal. However, that flare has a compound tweak in it.
You're in Maryland, if you want it right, I would head over to Euro Pros in Gaithersburg and see Jack.

It all depends on your expectations. If you want it fixed right, find a Porsche specialty shop. If you are just going to flip it soon, take it anywhere. Just my opinion.

Thanks all. I left a message for Jack to call me. Compound tweak, that is the term I was looking for.

This was a former racecar, super far from perfect, BUT I still want the lines to look good at least on this part.

Anyone know which rear bumper I have is OR the most common fiberglass one put on an SC?

Obviously can't just use "anyplace" but also doesn't necessarily have to be a "Porsche only" place but if there is one in your area that would be a good option. I've had a BMW worked on and one of my 911s worked on and both shops were highly regarded by owners of other cars as well. Both shops had Ferrari's, Lamborghinis, Mercedes...and Porsches being worked on. Maybe someone here on the forum knows a good shop in your area. Definitely check with the local PCA chapter.

Check with guys in your local PCA chapter. Check with the Porsche dealers in your area.
