SC Throttle Linkage
Any suggestions how best to pop off the throttle linkage to the throttle body? I'm trying to remove the bell crank bracket on the engine and I can't get the link to pop off either end. Removing from the throttle body seemed easier but it's fighting me. This is an '82 SC.
Also: (1) is this link NLA? I thought about dremeling it off but I don't see it for sale anywhere. (2) the throttle body is wallowed out where the ball portion of the ball-socket connects to the throttle body (see pictures), creating more slop. Is there supposed to be a bush here or is this only fixable by repair/purchasing new throttle body? Any help would be appreciated! ![]()

It should pop off. I’ve taken mine off a few times from the bottom plate. I think I used a big flathead screwdriver.
Not sure about the slop you mention. I think that plate is all connected and shouldn’t affect anything. I can take a photo of my 83 for comparison.

Jam a big screwdriver in there sideways and pry, it'll go.
It might have a little clip on it that prevents it from popping off, just a little bent wire around the opening for the ball. If you see that you'll have to take it off first.

Screwdriver, or small open end wrench behind the ball to pop it off.

Thanks guys. For some reason this post took days to publish. I was able to pop it off. I followed up with subsequent questions in another thread. Appreciate it!
