I named mine Hans after Hans Stuck. I know that now days Hans is known for his BMW drives, but I remember him as a Porsche GTP driver. The real reason is that he put on on seriously inspiring drive in the rain at the 12 Hours of Sebring with one of Champion's turbos in the mid 90s. He was flying, one handed, while wiping the fog from the windshield with the other hand. If I remember right, his lap times were quicker than the WSC cars. That was cool. Plus he yodels and my car does a pretty good yodel.

Needed German-ish names....so
Viper green RS replica became Kermie (ala Muppets and greenish amphibian) and the 75 US Carrera became Rudi (named after my favorite German restaurant at the time, Rudi Lechners).

The Red Sled

I kept showing up at a local photo lab in the snow, clearing another two inches after the other cars had gone by. The girls gave me a post card of Santa in a cabrio turbo bodied sleigh.

One is Biche because of the numberplate. The other was named Cappucino by my ex because she said it was the colour of a Cappucino. I never understood as the car is seal gray.

Simple "The Porsche" as in honey, can we take The Porsche? Around here I call her (the car) Black Bird becasue she's black, has the general Yellow Bird style and flys.

I don't have a name for mine, but a friend calls it the "Orange Dung Beetle". I always thought that was insightful.

my double black carrera is named naomi since the first week of ownership (approximately three years ago). There was a brief stint where the car was male and named darth (as in vader) but it didn’t stick because i knew the car was a woman all along. Naomi came about after I decided that the car was black, beautiful, highly desireable, and timeless. Then again, the car was fussy, required a ton of attention, cost a ton of money to keep happy, smoked excessively from time to time and acted up with alarming frequency. I figured it’s kinda like dating a supermodel, hence, Naomi (Campbell).

My 911 is named "Helga". She just seems like a Helga and my wife and kids agree. My 1985 VW Westfalia was named Gretchen and that name fit too! I wanted to name the 911 "Schatzi", but the family didn't agree...

Oh I forgot my G-50 Cab is Named Neva (as in Carolyn's German great aunt)
The Alfa was Rosa.
The San Juan 24 is Tweety
The Pursuit is "Speedy" as in Gonzalez
The MDX - Gracie
The Montero = Monty

The kids call the Porsche the "Cool Car" - so I guess she really has two names...

The 3.0 powered 914/6 was the "Rocket".......

The 3.6 powered 911 SC has always been "The Cab".....guess because there weren't that many SC cabriolets....

When I am done with the 356,,,,probably call it the "Lil Cab".....cause the roof will be coming off after the pan repair and when I convert it to a Speedster ........

Ok, that's fair enough. But why did you name the bird "Gil"?
