The best way to remove paint code tag without damage...
Need some advice from those who know. I'd like to remove the tag before the car is stripped. I'm worried that a cut-off wheel might nick it.
Thanks.

I cut a channel in each with a dremel and turned out the rivets with a screwdriver. If you look at the new rivets they have a twist pattern on them and kind of work as a screw. However once I got it off it was really corroded on the back so it went into the trash anyway. I had a fellow pelican stamp the new plate and it looks nearly identical.

You can buy a new one from Carbonne and have them stamps the exact paint code on it, if you want.

I think I drilled the drive screws out and used an easy-out. I bought a blank plate and stamped it myself. I changed the code from a gold metallic to black.
