C2/4 Bar Upgrade... is this true?

I am looking at sourcing local fibreglass front and rear replacement bars for my 86 turbo body Cab.

One local supplier has suggested that "I MUST..." buy their rear bar light and reflector kit for the bar to fit.

As the bar sits below the level of the lights and reflectors I do not understand why this is a A$2000 must - can someone pls explain.

Also what extra mounting bracket work is involved in making C2/4 bars fit an 86 any info or photos would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think the amount of fabrication needed for the mounting of lighting would be directly relative to the kit you are purchasing.

My rear C2 Turbo bumper from MA Shaw bolted right up to the stock locations, came with a bumper reinforcement bar and the factory C2 Lights all fit right in.

Perhpas the kit you are buying is a bit off, or your kit seller just wants a few extra $$?

Thanks for the info Jerry, but did you have to replace the rear lights with the C2 lights and reflector just beacuse you changed the bar?

This is what I am trying to establish.

No, you can continue to use your pre-964 lighting. I only switched lighting as I am doing a complete conversion.

Many members here have put aftermarket fiberglass rear bumpers on their Porsches, whether backdating or updating. If you do a search and find the Ultimate Ruf Thread you will see numerous photos of fibergalss rearends with the stock lighting.

Good luck on your project. Let's see some pictures
