intake stud spacing
I am tearing down the top of the engine to a long clock for cleaning. What is the intake stud spacing for a 78 3.0. I need to make some intake covers to keep trash out.
Thanks jamie

Painters tape not a long term solution?
You have vernier calipers or a ruler? To determine the center-to-center space, measure the outer dimension from stud to stud, then subtract the OD of one stud from that measurement...... ...... or take an intake gasket, trace it on some paper, then measure those dimensions. The cover you fabricate along with used gaskets and gasket sealer should do the job. Sherwood |

Yes 66 mm (79mm -13mm = 66mm), measured on a large port 1978 3.0 SC engine

I got 2.597" from my crappy Harbor Freight calipers that fluctuate 0.005".
Looks like I was only 0.001" from being accurate. Not too bad! ![]()
