"Fast" doesn't even begin to describe those cars.

Whoa.

Besides "sideways Stefan's" entertaining style, I've never seen a real pro do a fast lap at the 'ring. Pretty cool.

Make sure you use "rightclick->save as" instead of streaming as i loads up the server and you cannot save the clip if you don't do it.

And yes, he's very fast...notice the black car that just tears away in the beggining but is found by the Armco later on?

He must have been driving really quick indeed...

Okay, that looked scary fast. Any specs on the car?
Amac. I too, can only imagine having a track like that in the "backyard". I probably could start digging my own 6' deep.

40 mins of work time done in already today, and I'm gonna invite a couple other p-car brethren into the office to watch it. It's mesmerizing.
Thanks, Goran.

Now if you are really nice i might post a link to a movie with onboard video from Nürburgring, in a F1 car with Jacke Stewart as a driver ;-)

here it is:

http://www.no-grip.org/getfile.php?fileid=363&filename=Fransson_1973 Nurburgring onboard_v1_0.zip

It's 44MB big and needs to be unzipped first. Really cool...

OK, Goran has single-handedly crippled the function of my dept. today -- well, Goran and the residue of last night's revelry.
I've got to burn a bunch of these films to disc.

Where does the black 996 find the Armco guardrail?

The only cars I saw in the video were:

-the white 996 (passed at around the 5-6 min. mark)
-some tiny little VW golf looking touring car facing the wrong way on the right side of the track with emergency crew on site
-some VW Beetle looking thing passed at speed on the track
-something resembling an old BMW 6 series coupe off to the left side of the track just before a right hand turn

I thought the black 996 checked out and left Frank in the dust!

Sorry, my bad. I tought that black 996 with flashers in front of "Tiny little VW Golf"-thing at 12:25 was "our" 996 that dissapeared in front of camera-car..

That raises another question: is there a in-car movie from black 996?

Well, for starters on that same page download the Wolfgang Kaufmann Donkervoort turbo 'Ring video, as well as the crazy Gixxerkart.

Then go over to Pulp Racing and find the 2 videos from California Speedway TCRA race, and the 2 videos from the Ferrari club California Speedway trackday.

Many Porsche videos here, including Derek Bell driving the 'Ring in a 956 and giving a play-by-play(114MB!!) but the connection is slow.

Some good racing videos and the Ruf Yellowbird 'ring videos at Green Flag videos

That should keep you busy for a while.

Tom
