I want to paint my car...black is too dull (maybe), but would like more exotic..what?

Yea, i want to paint my -72T....or well, it looks like 964 Targa now... I was thinking of black as a colour, but it might seem...well...too ordinary...Jack's car looks fantastic...but it has all that chrome and long hood

Any ideas? No barbie colours though, nor white, nor red, and definitevely not brown.

Black looks good if the whole thing looks muscular and blacked out. For more exotic go with some of the colors of the 70's, they have some crazy, cool oranges and greens and blues. Besides those colors look great on the long hoods.

edit

Oops, guess you don't actually have a long hood anymore...

Ya beat me too it!

Schwarzmetal - Paint code 708 (Well, for 1982 anyway)

I just had my car repainted this color and WOW!

Check out this: Paint link

It does have to be seen in person to appreciate the metallic flake in the paint.

Lets see how she looks now. Then we can offer up suggestions more accurately. If it looks like a 964 now then early car colors like gulf blue may not be fitting.

I've seen the Schwarzmetal in person (Bob's Flat Six's car is that color). It's gorgeous! Very dark and stealthy-looking. Good choice.

This was a special ordered color--anthracite grey #624

It's like a titanium metalic--pretty boring compared to other 70's colors.

There can be only one choice - Tangerine!

Well, actually it would probably look a bit weird on your car. I second the silver if black is not your thing.

Did somebody say Black Metallic ? Thanks for the compliment Scott.
I think Pauls 911 above shows the true color pretty well.
I like this color alot but if I was doing a re-paint I think I would go with a later version of it from the 90's
