I'm looking at an 89 Carrera Cab. Just moved to SoCal and I need to be toppless. Any way what can you tell me about these cars? What's the most miles you've seen? Anything i should know in particular? Was this a G50 car?
Thanks

Yes it is a G50 car. Miles really don't matter if you get a good PPI`

http://www.idee.demon.nl/ Gives an overview of the 911 over the years and some tech data. Good primer for 911s.

If everything checks out, and the price is reasonable, you can't go wrong with a 1989 911. As Kurt said, the miles are not as important as the condition/care. If you must have a cab, make sure to check thoroughly for rust (from leaky top). Good luck!

Build date after April 89 would indicate that the factory fix for the transmission operating shaft bearing supports was in-place.
If earlier than that...look for repair records, using either factory or aftermarket fixes...because it will bite later. First signs are a very stiff clutch. ---Wil Ferch
