How about individual lightweight bulb horns for each section of the lens? Positioning may be tough without a housing.

Damon, that's an awesome product!
Have you done anything similar for the front housings?

i was haning at Damon's shop when he made these and i was fiddling with making a mold for lexan windows. His work is top notch and these fixtures are really light and if painted look real, just 1/10th the weight. He made them to allow use of either LED's or traditional lights. That's actually Lauri's RSR in his pic and that car will have them soon
everyone, get in line andy |

Those housing look great!
I'm finishing up a set of front ones right now for Dave at TRE. He also can get as many of those 911R taillights you guys need as I have about 50pairs siting in front of me to give to him when he needs them. My rear housings will be a little different as I'm not using the stock lamp as a mold part. I'm going to try and use LEDs and get the weight under .5lb complete with lights and wire. |

1. Flexible LED banks are avaialble - google them up.
2. I'm not sure if LEDs will give a good projection for backup lights -- but they are being used in flashlights now, so that should work -- in fact the parabolic housing from a flashlight could be mounted in the assembly so one could avoid fabricating it.... I'm looking fwd to buying something lightwt. .....! |

Anyone done this setup WITH back up lights? I hooked up brake, turn and running....typically reverse lights are white....thinking I may just use some low wattage mini fogs or something....
CA does not have an inspection requirement but I do live on a dimly (none) lit narrow street.....having a little more than the red illumination would be welcome.

colin, it depends on the degree of finished part needed. the bare box for race needs only one brake light per box, if you need it for street use, I have to make and install the dividers, and I am making a rear box to hide the electricals that replicates the stock removable panel today. I will have front 69-73 boxes by the weekend and rear 65-68's that will use a 69-73 OE rear lens, again the same requirements exist for street use. email at series900@nhvt.net or it appears Pelican may have these shortly :>)

Awesome, I was at Damon's checking on my car and saw this little project formulate. The finished version of this is well made and light, light, light.
Hey Damon...how does Andy always get the cool stuff first?

Because his Wife's RSR is in first. But not to worry, even though you think you are going with your short hood and new FRP bumpers, I have a surprise for you! think long hood....
My 69-89 911 FRP Race rear light boxes weigh 4.5 oz, the fronts are less, will weigh them in the morning.

How will you avoid "cross talk" between the lights/LEDs if they are not physically separated like in the stock housings?

black paint?
black plastic insert? or maybe the crosstalk will not be that great - it won't be direct light, just reflected. |

Pictured is my '70E with R taillights installed from AR Concepts. The color is Irish Green and the assemblies were painted to match.
High quality work on the assemblies!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Can anyone show me a pic of the bulb area (without the lense)? Do these light units always use a twin-base bulb?
Thanks Sherwood |

You can see pics at my website. On the website they're shown with the backs cutout. If you don't need the back cutout just let me know. You can use any bulb assembly you want as long as it fits in the circle.Pelican sells the bases if you need to get them.
