Embs,
If I enlarge the stock hole, should the DME go under the passenger seat?

OK, time out.

What year is your car? It sounds like you have a '80 SC or later.

Sorry, that picture was the rear seat - drivers side - right below the torison tube, where my stock harness was. My DME is under the drivers seat.

Code, (whats your name?)

If you have a DME car (84 to 89), the wiring harness fits in the stock hole, after you have enlarged it a bit. Routing of the harness is exactly the same as the stock harness on my 85 Targa.

DME computer hooks up using the same bolts as the old DME computer, IF you had a DME car. Otherwise it goes under the drivers seat.

The name of the punch that Todd Embs is showing is a "Greenlee punch" and works very well. They are also very expensive so try to rent one or look on Ebay! They are not cheap but last forever and make a difficult job extremely easy.

Okay, I think I got it. My name is Manjit (Manny is the nickname) and the setup is going into a 1981 SC so there is no DME - just the Oxy Control Module under the passenger seat.

Check here for the DME harness installation. The hole punch makes really nice holes.

What do you mean Leland? The 993 motor has a filter housing in place of the oil cooler that is on the 911 motor.

I didn't get much done this week but I was able to run the DME harness. I looked around for a hole punch but wasn't able to rent one so I tried a 2" hole saw and it worked out pretty good. I attached a pic. It didn't take long to run the harness but took a while to get the rubber grommet to sit right - I should have made the hole 2.25" instead.

I guess I need the inlet from the old filter which I no longer have so I'll have to order one from our host. I will probably rewire the 14 pin electrical plugs tonight - It looks like there are a couple of wires that will have to be removed - do I just pull them out of the way of the harness and tape them up?

You no longer need the accumulator, as for the fitting I found something either from my old fuel filter or my accumulator that worked.

Good Luck,
