you must have removed the old fuel lines at the fire wall, there should have been to rubber lines with steel ends, i hope you didnt give them away, the fitting is not used in anything else in the world but that, (well maybe) there was a post on this ill look, Kevin

I still have that line so I am good there - I think I ned the threaded inlet portion from my old filter or accumulator. Does the accumulator have a theaded fitting that can be removed?

there should have been two rubber lines, the one side of the fitting is theat special fitting the other side is just metric, no you will go from the line at the firewall then the rubber line straight to the filter, ditch the acumulator, the other line is the return line, you have to use the rubber line there also then you have to have a line made that goes to the motor from the rubber line, hope this helps, Kevin

HI code7rpd. heres a photo of what i did with my 82 sc fuel line. I had a hose shop make a new hose using my existing fuel fittings. dan

That is a pretty clean setup (blue82coupe)- I tried to find a hose shop out my way but the one's I found do hydraulic lines - not fuel so I ended up ordering up new lines. Without extending the lines it looks like I wil have to mount the filter upside down - that should be ok - right??

As far as progress goes I managed to replace my pedal cluster with one that I rebuilt a while back but never got around to replacing. I ran the PMS throttle cable, and almost finished up the wiring. I found two problems with the wiring- the first was that on pin 5 on the chassis 14 pin connector I have a Yellow/Green wire but on my 14 pin engine connector I have a Green/Yelloe wire - this pin was for the back up lights - I don't have a Green/Yellow on the connector anywhere so I am not sure if this is the correct wire for the back up lights. The bigger problem was that when I tried to seperate the engie side connector, it broke into a bizillion pieces - a bit brittle I guess - now I have to try to locate one - another darn delay! Either way, tonight I will put the clutch assembly on, mount the tranny to the engine, and get the motor in first thing tommorrow then, while I am waiting for parts I can start on the cooling. I'll post some pics of the progress this weekend.

One more question:
When I tuned up the motor I replaced the head temp sensor and also picked up a reference sensor. It looks like the reference sensor is just held in by one allen bolt - do I just pull the old one out and place the new one in? In order to adjust ithe gap from the sensor housing to the flywheel it looks like there are two bolts that control an adjustment - will I have to adjust the gap just because I replaced the sensor? If I do have to adjust it, what is the required gap?

It's easy, especially when the engine is out. The assembly that holds the sensor just pivots.

Code7 - if by saturday you still have not figured out the backup lights I can help, unfortunetely I won't be home until then. I remeber running into this problem, I can look at my harness and see what I did.

For anyone - does the reference sensor only come into play at startup?

I just got the clutch assembly in and as far as the reference sensor goes, I guess i need to adjust the gap between the sensor housing and the teeth on the flywheel right? The flywheel has notches it in but if I adjust it that far down it will hit the teeth. Here is a pic:

Also, I checked to see if I was getting power to the yellow/green wire for the back up lights with the ignition on and it has power - is this correct - should it have power? I also checked for power on terminal 14 of the 14 pin chassis connection and it doesn't have any - does it only come on when the starter is engaged?

Cool, thanks Dan. I just ran into another snag - the bracket for the sensor snapped and broke when I was trying to pull the old sensor out - another darn delay. I was so pissed last night that I just had to call it a day and then I couldn't sleep. I just called a P-car dismantler and they are checking to see if they have one in stock.
