3.6 conversion update

I just got my car back from the body shop with a fresh 993 midnight blue coat of paint and I am starting to get things together for the 3.6 swap. I think the putting in the coolers will take at least a weekend (carrera cooler to replace the trombone and a front mounted Setrab. Here are a few pics

Oh my-that's going to look incredible. There is an advantage it looks like to not being the first guy doing this conversion--your engine is as beautiful as that new paint job. Nice job--keep us updated.

Nice car! The engine is a '95, the heat looks custom mod of stock 993 heat? adapted to stock 993 headers?

Beautiful Manny!

I need some help installing my carbon fiber heat tube. Maybe I could take a look at yours before it goes in the car.

Thanks! I got the exhaust from Steve Timmins - it was one of his new set ups with 1 7/8 inch primaries and a two in two out muffler. Here is better pic of the exhaust. He says that there won't be any resonance as with the BB system - we will see. I am just starting to put things together and hope to get it running within the next month. Currently I am putting a 993 dash in and putting some of the body parts the body shop left off back on -then I can notch the tranny - put the tranny on the motor, run the DME harness, and get it in.

Wow. I can't wait to see some photos of that thing in natural light. That must be a stunning looking car.

You guys make 3.6 swaps look easy, too...

Stay w/ late 964, '95 993 or ROW 993v-ram, These engines open up a whole world of possibilities

will do Bill. I plan a visit to the "oracle" of p-car knowledge when the weather gets better. I already have the late model master cyl. and will be installing 996 monoblocks with new rotors next month. I think I'll need a brake bias adjuster... obviously, the later 915 is also in order as I have the 7:31 box now.

Welcome to the dark side! Which Setrab are you going with, center or driver's front fenderwell? If center, what are you planning to use for your valence? You may want to think about a single pulley conversion...at least at the alternator (safety thing).

That's going to be one sweet setup!

I'm going with a front mounted setrab and a carrera cooler 9I got them from Elephant racing and can't remember which setrab it is). I have an IROC front bumper so fitment should not be a problem. I am almost done with the 993 dash and have to put the rear tail lights in and then, I will being trying to ,ake sense of the wiring for the 3.6 swap. I am making pretty good time so far today.
